it's a rainy day in the neighborhood,
however the air has a lovely smell to it; like fireplace. which reminds me of kent, on a rainy day when we made our way to sissinghurst. how the clouds seemed to clear as soon as our eyes could make out its tower. horribly sentimental of me, but there was something so romantic about that land. something so absolutely personal and alive. i'd give anything to go back there.
last night i had girl night with abby and kelly, which was great fun. i was introduced to skyline chili by kelly, which was interesting, and we shared stories about horrible dates and first impressions and mutual friends. i miss having great girl friends, and i'm happy abby and kelly seem to find my company enjoyable. abby lent me Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri, who wrote The Namesake . I've only read the first story, A Temporary Matter , so far, but I loved it. Has anyone read The Namesake and could tell me their impression of it?
I love rainy days.
i just got a valentine's day package from my mom, which was really sweet and thoughtful. candy = goodness. lipgloss = even better.
today's got me thinking a lot about love and time and distance. morose.
ideal: friends, tea (white tea, would buy it from republic of tea but it costs $14 for fifty tea bags. suppose i should just break down and do it), eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, and no class.
going to grab a quick nap before going back out to class.
