I'm not doing so well at updating.
Well, this weekend was really pretty nice. It was just about all about biking though
On Friday I did Critical Mass. It wasn't as much fun as the previous one, but it was still nice to go riding around the city and be surrounded by all kinds of bikes.
Saturday was pretty quiet. I ran some errands via the bike. I went to Target, Trader Joes and a bike shop. It's amazing how much I can carry in pannies! Saturday evening was very pleasant. Zach and I took a walk. We went to Ravenswood Manor and played on the playground with the other adults. I'd never seen a playground with just adults, it was fun though. Then we walked along the river and saw signs how it's unsafe for human contact (lovely) then we went home and I tried to go to bed early.
I ended up waking up about two hours before I planned and got up at 2 am and started getting ready for Bike the Drive. Bike the Drive is a pretty cool bike ride that the Chicagoland Bicycle federation does each year. They shut down Lake Shore Drive, which is a freeway that runs along the eastern edge of the city. From 5:30am-10:00 am, it's just open to cyclists.
I met up with some friends, and we did some biking. It rained for the first half hour I biked, which made the rest of the time kind of unpleasant. However, I did do the full 30 miles and finished with time to spare. I felt quite proud of myself. It brought my grand biking total for the week up to about 95 miles.
For the rest of Sunday I spent some time with my biking friends, and then went home. I went to bed at 4 pm and slept until the next day. Woo!
Memorial day was pretty quiet, we bought groceries, watched a movie from home and that was about it.
