Hi! Are you new here? Well, welcome to my house! Stroll around, kick off your shoes, make yourself comfortable. There is coffee and baked goods in the kitchen. Help yourself.
However, there are just a couple of

If you think you would like to come around again, do me a favor and click on the User Info you see to your left. Read that. Then come back here and read behind the cut. And if you’ve been friended or just stop by a lot, please also read behind the cut. Just a quick refresher so we can keep this a fun, friendly, cozy place.
There have been some kerfuffles around here, so in the interest of keeping my blog user friendly, I just wanted to lay some ground rules, both for newbies and for the old hands. I’m not a strict disciplinarian (unless you’re into the kind of thing) and I like to keep things relaxed and loose. These rules are to benefit everyone. I know some folks on LJ make their blogs “Friends Only”. I can certainly understand why they do that, but if all someone has to do to get access to your blog is ask to be friended, then I don’t see the purpose that it serves. Hence, the following.
For The Newbies
Hi and welcome. Glad to have you. Your first rule is to have fun and enjoy. See how easy I like to make things?
- If you want to friend me, great. Please just post a comment or send me an e-mail (which is in User Info). I won’t friend you immediately unless I have initiated the contact. I like to get to know the folks I friend. I’ll go to your LJ, poke around, read your User Info, etc. Then I’ll friend you in a couple of days. If your LJ is blank, I won’t.
- Flames are strictly prohibited. I don’t require that you agree with me or anyone else here, but if you disagree, you must do so in a polite, civil fashion. If you don’t, your comment will be removed.
- In that vein, I post all kinds of stuff here. From frivolous fangirlishness to heavy topics in the news and politics. You will always get some indication of what a post is about in the comments and I use cuts. If you don’t come here for deep, don’t read deep. No harm, no foul.
- You don’t have to like everyone but you do have to respect them. I know a wide range of people from all different backgrounds, political beliefs, religious beliefs, etc. Everyone is welcome here except bigots. Clear enough?
For Everyone
(Including the people who have been putting up with me for a long time)
- As stated above, respect and civility are the keywords around here. I post some things to inform but also to generate discussion. If you don’t agree with me, let me know. If you don’t agree with someone else, let them know. You will not get flamed. You will not be driven out on a rail. I don’t expect my friends to agree with me all the time. In fact, that’s kind of boring. If you agree and don’t want to comment, fine. If you disagree, please don’t be afraid to comment. I run a tight ship and don’t tolerate lack of manners.
- Respect the friends lock. I know this should go without saying, but I’ve experienced someone who defriended me and continued to read f-locked posts. And even posting about them on (publicly) their LJ. Also, I've my f-lock violated when someone who wasn't on a f-lock decided to help themselves. Not good, not acceptable. If I f-lock something, it’s because it is only for my f-list. If you are not on my f-list, it is not for you. Because I am careful about whom I friend, it’s only for those people. All comments and discussion belong in that post. If you’d like to discuss outside the post, please e-mail me.
- Don’t believe something just because I post it here. Do your own research. Heck, if you find conflicting information, come back here and share it with the rest of the class. I am all about people being informed consumers, whether it relates to food, products, or information. I don’t know everything but I’m always keen to learn new stuff.
- Check out the links on the left. Some fun and informative stuff there. Those will also change periodically.
- If you find something interesting and don’t want to post it (either on your blog or mine), send it to me anyway. I rely on my field reporters to help me with content.
- If you want to be a minion for my plan of world domination, e-mail me. World domination is a big job and I haven’t quite worked up the energy for it yet, but when I put my master plan into action, I’d like to have my minions lined up and ready to go.
That’s it for now. I’m not a controlling person, so I don’t like too many rules. All I ask in that everyone play nice, share their toys, and don’t steal each other’s milk money. I like to keep things relaxed and casual. So have fun!
