Hopefully, this won't be the last 4th we can celebrate unironically. If you could get your shit together, USA, that would be awesome.
It's hot. So hot. 115°F today. 117°F tomorrow. At this point, I want to go to the Sahara Desert and see if maybe I can find a cool breeze there.
Everything is hot. The breeze is hot. The ground is hot (and you can feel the heat radiating from it). If you do not own a white vehicle, you can burn your fingers opening your car door. If a shopping cart with a dark handle has been sitting out in the sun, don't take it into the store with you. I tend to do this. I have to remind myself not to do this because I will grab the cart handle and burn my skin off.
The desert is trying to kill us. To be fair, humans aren't necessarily built for the desert. Well, some are. I'm not. But, a/c is my very best friend and I don't go outside very often in the Summer. Not many people here do. The sidewalks are eerily devoid of pedestrians during the Summer. There are people here who LOVE this kind of weather. I think those people are bonkers.
