Aw, thank you. x3

Haha, I know. I'm sorry. It needs to happen this way, though. And I am afraid that it will get worse before it gets better.

He won't, not really. He'll always be more childish than Aravae, but she has never been very childish, and she is much older than him, and she was kind of focred to grow up after the fight with Bane. She's had an emotion blocking Merlin to deal with for years, the poor girl.

The dragons are much older than their Riders. They were in their eggs for a long time before they hatched. Their wisdom comes from ancestral memories and the things Aravae was taught and is not teaching Vesparr. And they are more intelligent than their Riders, too. If they weren't, nothing would ever get done. xD

They've always been awkward, now just more so because of what happened. And the back story was random. It came in because I needed to compare Merlin's relationship with Arthur to that of his relationship with the other Riders. Poor boy has been through so much.

Aravae knows all, fr srs. She just tells Arhtur how it is, because she knows what Merlin is really thinking. And yes, the Merlin/Will relationship comes into play later, too. I shall say no more.

Merlin thinks about his duty too much. He has trained himself not to get attached, and what he is feeling for Arthur is all the more terrifying because he's never felt it before. Arthur just wants Merlin to admit to what he knows he is feeling, and is angry that he won't. And now Arthur is angry at himself for saying the things he knows Merlin didn't want to hear.

I'm not sure yet. I have prompts to answer. Maybe, though. x3

Should be fun ;)

YAY! :D I ♥ him so much :D That can't have been fun, I think I might have killed him trying to knock some sense into him if I were her! ;) Or I would have hugged him to death. Either is not good

Everything she's not teaching Vesparr? ;) Good point about the ancestral memories, I've always wondered just how much they know from them, it's intriguing... Yeah, thank god for them!

Stupid boys ;( (Again) I love all the details you have of the world and how well you know the characters, it's amazing!

I ♥ her too :D Well, at least someone knows what's going on in his head, because he desn't seem to! Ohhh, interesting... *ponders*

He certainly does! Which is understandable really, after everything. I guess it's proof of how much Arthur needs that he's managed to get through those barriers and reach Merlin! Poor Arthur :(

Well, fingers crossed! :D

Everyone loves Vesparr. It's because he is childish and epic shiz. *nodnod*

Lawl. Aravae is used to Merlin by now. She knows that what he needs is someone to love and someone who will love him despite all his flaws, and she has been waiting for that person. And now he has arrived, she's encouraging Merlin along but not forcing him. She knows that won't work.

...That should have been everything she is teaching Vesparr. What I gathered from the books was that the memories are passed down from their parents. It never went into details, that's just what I imagined he meant, so I assume they know a lot from them.

They are quite dim. Aw, thank you. I think I know them too well. When I plan things in my head, everyone's reactions and the dialogue comes really easily. I just know how they are wired up and how they will react to certain things. It's a little sad, actually.

Aravae is one of my favourite characters to write. She's intelligent and wise and she knows what Merlin wants - what he needs - but she also knows that forcing him to get it will send him running, so she's letting him try and figure it out for himself. This also doesn't work, but at least he knows she is on his side. And of course he has no idea what is going on in his head - he has never felt anything like this before. It is all very confusing for him.

The fact that Arthur has managed to get to him shows just how much Merlin needed someone to break the barriers down, and how much Arthur means to him. He hasn't let anyone other than Aravae that far in in centuries.

Mine are, too. Here's hoping. x3
