THE VAMPIRE DIARIES CANON
DAMON SALVATORE
Though the two used to share a shaky friendship, Elena is wary to trust him again due to him snapping her brother's neck when she rejected his advances. She's beginning to come around to him again (as far as speaking to him goes), but she is not someone who forgives and forgets easily, so she's still wary around him and makes it very clear that she's still angry with him. Still, she's glad to have him around Luceti, because there's still so much they don't know about the place and while she doesn't quite trust him, she trusts that he'll do what he can to keep her and Caroline safe.
CAROLINE FORBES
A friend of Elena's since kindergarten, Caroline has always been a constant in her life. Over the years, their friendship has taken a few blows, mostly concerning animosity and jealousy that Elena wasn't even aware that Caroline had. They made amends at the Miss Mystic Falls pageant, and all was well enough until Caroline was killed by Katherine with Damon's blood in her system, turning her into a vampire. Elena had worked hard to keep the dark truth of Mystic Falls from Caroline to keep her safe, and she still feels guilty about not filling her in on things when she'd already been a victim of them (Damon was using her as his own personal blood bag when he first came to town). Oddly enough, though, Caroline becoming a vampire has drawn the two of them closer together, and their bond has only grown stronger in Luceti.
THE VILLAGE OF LUCETI
DAWN SUMMERS
Elena really likes Dawn, based on conversations they've had through the journals. They have a mutual love of cookies and reading, and she's made a promise to Dawn to watch the Indiana Jones and Star Wars trilogy once they acquire a TV.
HERMIONE GRANGER
Hermione helped Elena out a lot when she first arrived in Luceti, something Elena's extremely grateful for. She also asked if she'd be interested in learning a certain type of magic. Elena's interested in learning something to fight back if she ever finds herself in danger, but is doubtful of her ability to learn - in her world, only witches can learn and perform magic. Outside of that, she'd really like to get to know Hermione a bit better.
BUFFY SUMMERS
Caroline was quick to inform Elena of Buffy's status as a vampire slayer. Worry for her friends has her a little bit wary when she speaks to Buffy, but that aside, she likes her based on what she knows. (She's still not about to reveal Caroline or Damon's secret anytime soon, though.)
ANDREW WELLS
Friend of Dawn's, was very supportive of Elena's promise to watch the Indiana Jones and Star Wars trilogies. He seems nice enough, but she was trying not to giggle when he was telling her about the inaccuracies of vampire romance fiction.
WARREN MEARS
Misogynistic and rude. Elena didn't like him at all.
DONATELLO
Elena's only spoken to him once, but he was really nice and willing to indulge her ridiculous questions, so he's cool in her book. (Even cooler once her suspicions about him are confirmed - she didn't ask if he was a ninja turtle because she didn't want to be rude.)
