It's been a while since anything has eaten my life. I haven't had much of a chance to get my obsessions on this year. Really, the only TV I'm actually up to date with anymore these days are cooking shows (...and X-Factor. Watch me hang my head in shame. I don't know how that happened either.).
Considering this, it is a bit of a comfort to inform you that Fallout: New Vegas has me firmly in it's sharp, slightly radioactive claws. I got it on the day it was released and finally finished my first playthrough today. I know, that took me a while, but I'm prone to randomly wandering off mid-quest if I see something shiny in the distance.
Just exploring this world is one hell of an experience. This is what I already loved about Fallout 3, even if you're just wandering around aimlessly for a couple of hours, this game just doesn't get boring.
I chose to go with Yes-Man in the end, even though I have a nagging suspicion that he might come back as some sort of evil AI overlord in one of the add-ons once he has upgraded himself to be a little more 'assertive'. For now an independent New Vegas seemed like the best option.
K went with the Legion on her first finished playthrough, I think I might do that the next time as well.
It's silly, but I have such a hard time being anything but -nice- when I play a game for the first time. Later I don't have much trouble being a dick (or possibly a murderous killing machine! : D) but the firsttime I meet these characters I usually make a rather good impression. Heh.
Anyway, I kind of wonder if there is such a thing as a Fallout fandom out there. One that doesn't just love the games (which I do!) and wants to talk about strategies and whatnot, but one that just loves this setting. I mean, how fun would a Fallout P&P round be? Or a Fallout LARP?
