PEOPLE POWER!!
if you havent yet received word, there's major news going on in the philippines. President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has just declared a 'state of emergency' in manila. schools have been shut down, the military is occupying fort bonifacio, curfew is being enforced-- one step away from MARTIAL LAW... AND this all is issued today, FEB 24th. why is this of any relevance?? FEB 25th 1986, the first PEOPLE POWER movement overthrew marcos dictatorship
"Commemorations of the 20th anniversary of "people power" were cancelled, presidential spokesman Ignacio Bunye said, adding that the military had been ordered "to prevent and suppress lawless violence"."
there will be a candlelight vigil TODAYat baytree at 5:30, to be in solidarity with the anti-gma regime. plus, it's going on nationwide-- the Gab-net organization (www.gabnet.org) has units all over the u.s that will be holding similar vigils. at the most, the vigil will be 30 minutes.
please come out and show your support. but if not, you'll be there in spirit.
