I love the movie "You've Got Mail"... Its been a long while since I'd seen it. Thank the great Tivo... sometimes I wonder if my Tivo knows me better than anyone else, lol.
Every time I watch this movie I want nothing more than to open a coffee shop in New York City... one that had an array of interesting characters working behind its counter. All the furniture would be made of wood. An eclectic mix of art would line the walls, and no plate or utensil would match another. When you'd open the door you'd be blasted with the smell of coffee, orange flowers, sweet bread, smokey paper and timelessness. I'd feel more at home in the shop at night after closing than anywhere in the world. Sitting with a giant cup of coffee or tea (depending on the weather and my mood), reading a book that I couldn't put down, and watching the different people walk by on their way out to town, making up their stories in my head until they faded into the edge of the window. And the distant echo of music would reach my ear in random spurts from the backroom, almost completely unnoticeable yet without it the feel of the evening would be completely different.
Hmm... its been a while since I've daydreamed. I think I miss it.
Oh to revert back. Puts me in the mood to buy fruit, non-frilly stationary, and listen to Stevie Wonder.
