Since I've Graduated

Holy crap...I'm a college graduate. Graduation weekend was surreal. It went by so unbelievably fast. On Friday, my family and I went to this desert social at Bozarth, the old mansion Gonzaga University owns. It was alright. That place is gorgeous. I always like going there. After the social, my family went to their hotel, and I went to Kennedy to hang out with Jess, Kelsey, and Ali. It was fun. On Saturday, it was get up early time, and my family and I went to the Senior Champagne Brunch. They made this slideshow of pictures that us seniors had submitted. It made me very nostalgic, I must say. Later that day, there was the Baccalaureate Mass. I wasn't going to go. I knew my brother wouldn't be interested, and I thought I'd spare him. But Rory ended up talking me into it at the last minute, so I rushed to get my dress and gown on, and went to the Mass. I ended up sitting with Rory and my housemates, and some friends of ours. I'm so glad I ended up going. It was good to sit my friends that I've known since Freshman year, and just be able to kind of say goodbye in that way. Sunday was Graduation day, and it was crazy. The ceremony wasn't as unbearably long as I thought it'd be. It was nice. After graduation, I managed to find my freshman year friends, and we took some group pictures in our caps and gowns. I'm so glad we were able to find each other and do that.

After graduation, my dad and brother left, though my mom stayed till Wednesday to help me pack up and such. Jess crashed at my house, and my mom, Jess, and I hung out till mom left on Wednesday. After mom left, I did my share of the house cleaning for check out. Jess and Sarah helped out at our house a lot too. After we all checked out of our house, Sarah and I said goodbye to Anne, Jed, and Stuart (they were the only ones left out of our freshman year friends), and Jess and I moved into Madonna for a couple days with Sarah.

After that, Sarah, Jess, and I picked up Jeff, and we left for an awesome road trip. We went to visit our friend Lindsay in Puget Sound and saw her graduate from UPS. We went to a house party where we were the life of the party. When we left, people in the front yard called out, "Where are the dancers going?!"

After Lindsay's graduation, Sarah, Jeff, and I dropped Jess off at the Seattle airport where he caught his plane to Japan. Sarah, Jeff, and I visited Julie, Stuart, and Darren (some friends from freshman year who are living in Seattle). It was great seeing them. We had delicious sushi at this buffet place Stuart knew about and hung out at Julie's new place. After that, Sarah, Jeff and I ventured back to Spokane. I spent one last night in Madonna at Gonzaga hanging out with Sarah and summer staff people, and headed back to Chandler the next day. It was a sad day for me, but I was glad I had that extra time post graduation to hang out with friends and say goodbye to Gonzaga.

I thought getting a job for the year before I head off to grad school would be easy. It's been anything but, however. Since I've been back home, I've had some interviews, but no offers. I've found out about substitute teaching, though, and I think it'll be easy enough getting a job doing that. It'll take awhile before I'm able to do that, but it's something.

It's been nice seeing some old high school friends since I've been home. Finally got to see Emily, and got to see Alex again. Emily, Alex, and I had a lovely evening just a little while ago hanging out on Mill just like old times. It was nice. We chatted for a long long time in the parking lot behind Chili's.

After that night on Mill, I visited Ju Ju in San Diego. Jess came to visit Ju Ju too, and the three of us had a grand old time. We had delicious Mexican food at Fiedel's, got to hang out with Ju Ju's parents who are the nicest people ever, and got to see the ocean. We also went to Balboa Park, and went inside The Museum of Man there, then we went to Coronado, where we had more delicious Mexican food at Miguel's, and visited Hotel del Coronado, and after that, we had delicious frozen yogurt at Yogo Tango in downtown San Diego. Jess had to leave on July 18th, but I stayed till the 20th. After Jess left, Ju Ju and I went to Stone Steps (a beach) where we met up with Elwood (a friend of Ju Ju), and Faust, and Faust's friend from college. That night, Ju Ju and I went out with Elwood to D Street (a bar). It was pretty fun, but I got so tired...I was ready for bed long before we left. The next day, Ju Ju and I went to Oceanside, and went out on the pier there. It was fun to look out on the ocean from the end of the pier and look back at all the people on the beach. After that, Ju Ju and I got Mexican food at Rico's, and hung out at her house. The next day, it was time for me to head back home. I was sad to leave. I love my time in San Diego with Ju Ju, and it was great seeing Jess, too. It was a great trip.

Basically, that's what's been going on recently.
