hey hey! thought i'd post something for halloween! (:
and i honestly don't know why all my horror fics are about dancing. i have NOTHING against dancing. seriously.

Tap. Tap tap. Tap tap.

You walk across the hallway, following the rhythmic tapping.

Tap. Tap tap. Tap tap.

You turn into a corridor, lit by several chandeliers. The carpeting was thick and it felt a little warm. It was exquisite, gently fading from a deep maroon to white.

Tap. Tap tap.

You turn the wooden knob on the heavy wooden door and push it open gently.

“Oh!” you gasp in wonder.

The room was almost entirely dark except for a few spotlights on the four pairs of dancers on the dance floor.

Tap. Tap tap. Tap tap.

The heels the ladies wore tapped in perfect unison though there was no music to be heard. You stand there, mesmerized as the door swings shut behind you.

“Would you like to dance?” a small voice asks from around your shoulder. You whirl around in fright only to find a beautiful lady smiling at you from beneath her long eyelashes.

She blushes lightly as you continue to stare.

“Dance?” she asks again.

She looks up at you and you melt into those beautiful black eyes. You think you see a hint of remorse, of sadness flit across those beauties but decide to concentrate on the more important task at hand.

“Y..yes pl.. please.” You stutter while bashing yourself mentally.

“How eloquent. Way to make a good first impression.” You though sarcastically.

You took her small hand in yours and leads the dance. Slowly, you find yourself falling into step with the other dancers, effortlessly. You look at your dance partner and she smiles sweetly at you. Satisfied with your performance, you glance at the mirrored walls and back at her.

Wait.

You turn to look at the mirrors again and realize, too late, that none of the dancers produced any reflection in the mirror.

Then you feel a sharp piercing pain and you find out your arm’s been ripped from it’s sockets. You cry out in pain but not a sound could be heard.

Tap. Tap tap. Tap tap.

You watch in mute terror as the dancers start decomposing in front of you. Your partner’s eye rolls out of her head and lands with a sickening squelch on the floor. Her flesh is hanging in shreds and she reaches an arm up to you.

Screachh.

You feel searing pain like none you’ve ever felt before as your limbs were torn apart, flesh viciously shredded from the bone. You watch as blood, your blood gushes out and stain the beautiful maroon carpet. Your pathetic mind seems to work faster under paranoia. You put two and two together and realize the exquisite coloring of the carpet outside was caused by the blood shed in this room.

Raising your one remaining eye to the ceiling, you see something that causes you to gag-if you still had a tongue to gag on that is. Limbs were hanging overhead and dripping with blood. As the light brightens, you see many more dancers in this room, all in various states of decomposition, all with missing body parts. Your partner gives you a smirk-which was kind of ruined due to her missing upper lip.

“Gross.” You think.

While all this was going on, everyone was still dancing. Even the headless, the legless, the eyeball-less. Everyone continued dancing.

Tap. Tap tap. Tap tap.

You hear a foreign sound. A careful shuffling could be heard.

As if on cue, all the limbs flew back to their respective bodies. The bloodstained clothes became clean again. Your beautiful dance partner was back.

You watch in horror as a handsome dancer took his place beside the door.

“No!” you shout desperately, but nothing could be heard beside the tap-tap-tapping of the dancers.

Before the lights dimmed, you look at the mirror and saw yourself, face twisted into a sardonic smirk.

Tap. Tap tap. Tap tap.

The lights dimmed further.

Tap. Tap tap. Tap tap.

The knob turned.

Tap. Tap tap. Tap tap.

The door was gingerly pushed open.

Tap. Tap tap. Tap tap.

“Would you like to dance?”
