So, over on fanfiction.net, I have several projects in the running. I am quickly getting so lost keeping them all straight. I now know why so many authors take so long to update on going projects, while still making new ones- Case in point: It's sooooo much easier to pull something new out of a hat than to get events going in a linear manner. Especially if its a drabble serial. Making sure the events line up nicely, coexisting in a manner that they make sense and tell a story. Ugh. I now rememeber why it is that I love one-shots. One shots are beautiful in their simplicity. So easy! No cross referenceing no fillers, no hair pulling! I'm slowly driving myself batty writing "Obligation of Duty." It wouldnt be so bad...if I wasnt a complete and total OCD perfectionist. I shouldn't be a writer. I should make evelopes and collect stamps. Thats a simple uncomplicated hobby right? .....Knowing me......I'd make it ten times harder than it needs to be. *head desk*
It doesnt help at all that Im horribly impatient, and whats sadder still is that I know my writing suffers thanks to said impatience. Which is why I like writing drabbles so much. They're short, and for me a least, low matinence. Because they're small its a breeze twist words and edit neatly. My longer projects are so messy, sometimes I post without looking it over. Like 'Dreamscape'. Tackling the editing of that monstrosity scares me that badly...I need to find a good beta.... now if only I could stop being lazy and go out and find one....
Anyways thats a peek into the life of a currently insane woman. Felt I'd share.
