[Chapter 1] [Chapter 2]
Chapter 3:
A Few Seconds with Yunho
4 am.
Yoochun looked at the clock, and groaned as his cell phone continued to ring and ring. He could’ve sworn that he turned it off last night when he finished talking to his brother.
He forced his eyes to open, and rubbed the sleepiness from his eyes, till he had a clear vision around him. He hoped that he didn’t disturb Jaejoong, so he grabbed his cell phone and stepped into the kitchen. He jumped on his way there, due to the cold floor.
The phone kept ringing; maybe it was his brother or his mother calling about something, but at 4 in the morning, what could be so important? Yoochun sighed tiredly and answered the phone.
“Hmm…Hello?” Yoochun said feeling a bit light headed from his disturbed sleep.
“YOOCHUN-AH!” Jaejoong’s loud voice echoed through the speaker of his phone, causing Yoochun’s ear to ring. Yoochun thought he was dreaming and ran back to their room, and he looked at Jaejoong’s bed, it was empty. Uh oh, Jaejoong must be in deep trouble or something.
“YAH! Hyung, where are you? It’s 4 in the morning!” Yoochun said, freaking out and taking his pajamas pants off and putting on his blue jeans.
“I’m at SM entertainment, Yoochun-ah, hurry up, I saved you a seat!” Jaejoong replied back excitedly. Yoochun almost dropped his phone; Jaejoong woke him up in the middle of his sleep to line up at SM entertainment?! He looked out the window, it wasn’t even light out yet!
“Hyung! Don’t you think, it’s a little TOO early to be there? It’s not even light out yet!” Yoochun said, thinking about whether or not, he should go back to his warm bed, or out in the cold, dark morning with Jaejoong.
“Yoochun-ah, there’s already a line forming! I already saved you a seat, besides, I don’t want to be here, waiting by myself…..alone.” Jaejoong said quietly, and Yoochun sighed and rubbed his sleepy eyes.
“Alright, Hyung, I’ll be there.” Yoochun said, as he listened to Jaejoong’s happy squeals of thank yous’ and Yoochun hanged up. Yoochun sighed and shook his head, with a small smile on his face.
It was going to be a big day, and it was also time to make his Hyung’s idol dream come true.
As he headed to make his bed, his stomach grumbled out of hunger. He swore that he smelled coffee when he went to the kitchen, and to his surprise when he got there, was a cup of coffee and some toasted bread and scrambled eggs. The scrambled eggs made a smiley face, with the swipe of ketchup as the smile.
He felt himself tearing up again, he was supposed to be mad at Jaejoong for waking him up so early, but all the troubles were soon forgotten by Jaejoong’s small act of kindness.
Yoochun looked at his cell phone time, and it read 4:30, he helped himself to Jaejoong’s well cooked breakfast, and hurried in hopes that Jaejoong wouldn’t be standing all alone in the cold, brisk morning.
************************************************************************************
Meanwhile in front of the SM entertainment entrance, Jaejoong was pacing back and forth, with his Ipod earphones glued to his ears and biting his lip out of nervousness. He couldn’t sleep last night, knowing that auditions were the next day. All he could think about was Jung Yunho, the audtions, Jung Yunho and so forth.
Jaejoong pulled his SKULL beanie down to his ears, as he looked around for any sight of Yoochun. He felt bad for waking up Yoochun, who didn’t like getting up early, but he just couldn’t help himself, he didn’t want to go through this big step alone.
He looked behind him; he wasn’t the only one there, actually. It turns out tons of girls and guys came to audition, he could’ve sworn that the line was already leading up to the other side of the street. Luckily he came early, otherwise, he’d be on that side of the street, too.
There were tons of girls all dressed up, and many were had posters that supported their favorite artists, but most of them had an “I LOVE JUNG YUNHO” or “MARRY ME, YUNHO!” poster. Jaejoong pouted in jealously and wished that he had something to show his admiration for Yunho, he figured that he might at least; prove it to him at the auditions.
He sighed and looked at the tall SM building in front of him, there had to be so many floors in there, he thought to himself. What he was most worried about was being able to pass the auditions, one glance of Yunho will give him the determination and courage he needed to show off his talent. He heard people talk about how confident they were about passing, he heard some girls say that they were going to dance and sweep Yunho off his feet and guys who were going to sing and dance.
Jaejoong was getting butterflies in his stomach, as he thought about the people he was going to audition against. Will he even survive the audition to see Yunho? Will he have the talent to succeed? What if he doesn’t make it? What if they already chose someone talented than him?
“YAH! Hyung!” Yoochun yelled out, interrupting Jaejoong’s troubled thoughts about the auditions. Jaejoong gave a small smile as Yoochun hugged him and patted him lightly on the back. Yoochun didn’t miss the frown that Jaejoong had on earlier, when he was running to approach him.
“Hyung, you ok?” Yoochun said, putting his arm over Jaejoong’s shoulders, and Jaejoong shrugged it off, his face breaking into a smile. Jaejoong didn’t want to trouble Yoochun, so he just shook his head and smiled.
“I’m fine, just thinking about -“ Yoochun interrupted him by saying, “Jung Yunho, Hyung, I know.” Jaejoong laughed and lightly socked him on the shoulder. Yoochun knew Jaejoong was nervous, but Yoochun also knew that one glance at Yunho, Jaejoong would forget about being nervous at all.
“Say, Hyung?” Yoochun asked, as Jaejoong sat down on the cement floor, bobbing his head to the music.
“Hmmm…what, Yoochun-ah?” Jaejoong said, closing his eyes and listening to his rock music, and continued to bob his head to the music.
“Your hair getting quite long, are you going to get it trimmed?” Yoochun said, as Jaejoong let his medium long hair cover his eye. The thing about Jaejoong is that with long hair like that, he could totally pass as a girl, but he never told Jaejoong that, knowing that it’d upset him to be seen as beautiful rather than handsome.
"I kind of like it like this, straight and long.” Jaejoong replied, touching his hair and letting it fall on his shoulders. Jaejoong smiled at Yoochun’s confused look and continued to listen to his music on his Ipod. Yoochun took out his phone and smiled at the text messages that his brother send him.
“So what exactly are you going to do for the auditions?” Yoochun said, reading the texts that his brother send him, about a new job that he got, and texting him back.
“Dance.” Jaejoong said with confidence and determination, as he caught Yoochun’s surprised expression and smiled widely.
Yoochun almost dropped his phone, there were many things that Jaejoong was good at but dancing wasn’t one of them. Yoochun send his final text responses to his brother and shoved his phone in the back pocket of his jeans.
"Hyung…I don’t think---“ Yoochun was about lecture Jaejoong about his dancing skills when loud screams and bright flashes came out of nowhere.
“OH MY GOD, they’re here!!!!” Girls were screaming and started to crowd in the streets when five huge, black GMC vans drove by and parked in front of SM. Security guards came out of the SM entertainment entrance and immediately blocked the crowds that were beginning to form as girls and guys were trying to catch a glance of their favorite idols and capture it on their phone, camera, etc .
Jaejoong immediately stood up, and turned off his Ipod, but didn’t go and join the crowd. Yoochun looked confused, as he saw like thirteen guys pass by with nothing but jogging clothes and around nine girls wearing short-shorts and tank tops. Around 10 of the thirteen guys waved at the crowd, who screamed in response, but the three of the nine girls gave small wave as the others just avoided the attention.
Jaejoong didn’t look too interested with any of them that passed, but looking at the same direction where the GMC vans came from. Yoochun gave Jaejoong a confused look, and Jaejoong who noticed, smiled at Yoochun’s confused expression.
“He’s not here yet, Yoochun-ah.” Jaejoong said, smiling and sat back down, turning on his Ipod and bobbing his head back to his rock music.
Yoochun chuckled and shook his head. Yup, he knew that Jaejoong’s main concern was Jung Yunho, then he sat down next to him and scratched his head, what exactly was he telling Jaejoong not to do?
*************************************************************************************
Yunho frowned as he tried putting his tie together. He was about to rip the tie altogether, till his manager impatiently did his tie for him and pulled Yunho to come into the van already.
Their driver shut the door behind him, as his manager opened his mouth to lecture him about his schedule. Yunho sighed and wished he hadn’t forgotten his Ipod, he’d rather listen to music than listen to all the crap coming out of his manager’s mouth.
“9 o’clock is when the auditions start, and by 8:30, you’re supposed to be at your designated spot since you’re one of the judges. 7:30, I’m going to the executive meeting and I’ll report you back the information you’re suppose to know, and thorough out the rest of the day, you’re going to be in that chair, spotting out new talents alright?” His manager said, going through Yunho’s schedule to see if he missed out on any other important information.
“Hyung, why do I have to wear a suit? It’s not like I’m going to the executive meeting with you, besides this fucking suit is stuffy.” Yunho said, as he struggled not to rip the suit to pieces. He winced as he clenched too tightly on his shirt, and his hand began to throb again.
“Get used to it, Yunho, you’re suppose to give a good impression on our entertainment agency, and not look like you’re going to the gym, understand? “ His manager replied, signing some papers and then carefully shoving them into his sleek, black folder.
Yunho sighed tiredly as he covered his eyes with his arm, trying to sneak in a tiny nap. He wasn’t able to sleep last night at all; all he could think about was the failure of him being a solo artist. Maybe if he was in a group like Super Junior, he wouldn’t have to be in this stupid mess, but then again he wasn’t cut out to be in a group. He liked being his own person and being independent, but being in a group, following orders, just wasn’t his thing.
He turned on his phone and looked at his address book section , the only name he had there was his manager’s name, the company’s number and Lee Soo Man’s number, and all the other slots were completely empty. He looked at his “Calls Received” section of his phone; it was his manager’s name on all of the slots. It didn’t bother him before to look at the empty slots in his address book, but just looking at it, pissed him off. He turned off his phone and shoved it in his jacket pocket.
“Oh fuck, this is just great.” Yunho opened his eyes after hearing his manager swear, and then he heard screams.
“JUNG YUNHO! YUNHO! OH MY GOD, YUNHO is HERE!” Yunho smirked after hearing many of his fans screaming his name, maybe the day won’t suck after all. He peeked through his side of the window and noticed that a huge crowd was waiting for them. He saw posters with his name on it, and many of the girls and..er…guys jumping up and down.
Many were all dressed up, Yunho continued scanning the crowd, till his car finally came to a stop and parked. His manager came out, and Yunho swore that the screams just got louder. His driver finally went out and opened the car door on his side. The moment Yunho stepped out; the screams were just as loud as the ones at his concerts.
His bodyguards immediately went around in attempt to stop the crowd from getting to their star artist, Yunho looked around, distracted by the flashing lights and the screaming fans, and he somehow ended up falling over.
Suddenly there was silence, as Yunho realized that someone was on top of him. Yunho opened his eyes and found himself staring at long haired girl, wearing a SKULL beanie, with a surprised look on her big eyes , and her cheeks flushed red when Yunho stared back at her, and somehow at that moment, Yunho gulped and felt somewhat light headed.
But it was all over in a few seconds. The girl ended up being shoved aside, as Yunho tried to get to her, his manager pulled him back.
“YAH, Yunho!” His manager pulled onto his elbow, while the body guards surrounded them in a secure position, this time, watching out for anyone trying to get passed them.
When they got inside, his manager checked Yunho out to make sure that he didn’t get injured anywhere.
“Yunho, are you okay? Who the hell was that girl?” His manager said, patting down Yunho’s arm, but Yunho pulled his arm back. Yunho glared at his manager, and pat down himself, to get rid of the white marks on his black suit when he fell down.
“I’m fine, hyung, but you didn’t have to shove that girl, you know? She could’ve been a fan.” Yunho said angrily and fought the urge to go out the door and apologize to the girl that got hurt because of him.
“So? She’s not the only fan you have , Yunho, she’ll get over it.” His manager said coolly and was looking through the stupid papers in his black folder, as he waited for the secretary to give his approval to enter the executive office for the meeting.
Yunho felt something in him snap, and he clenched his hands so tight in a fist, that his wound from yesterday reopened and his blood trickled down his hand and onto the clean, white, marble floor.
*************************************************************************************
“Oh shit, Hyung!” Yoochun yelled, picking Jaejoong up who was shoved aside, while big shot Yunho went into the entrance.
“Yoochun-ah, I’m fine!” Jaejoong said, breaking away from Yoochun’s hold, as he wiped his clothes from his fall. The crowd split in half, many went back to their lines, while others continued to call their idols’ names to get their undivided attention.
Yoochun noticed that Jaejoong was bleeding on his hand, Yoochun attempted to wrap it with his shirt, but Jaejoong pulled away and licked the blood away.
“Hyung, that moron shoved you off him, how the fuck can you be fine?” Yoochun said angrily, with concern in his voice as he watched Jaejoong wipe his blood on his own t-shirt. Jaejoong shushed Yoochun by covering his mouth with his other good hand.
“Yoochun-ah, it wasn’t him…it was one of his body guards, I swear, I’m fine, just a scrape.” Jaejoong said, smiling and showing him the red scrape that was glowing red on his hand.
Yoochun sighed, still feeling angry and could’ve sworn that it was Yunho’s hands that shoved Jaejoong like he was some kind of disease. Yoochun was still fuming with anger, and Jaejoong was getting worried that he might bottle it up and explode. Jaejoong grabbed something from his pack, and tapped Yoochun’s shoulder.
Yoochun turned around with a scowl still on his face, and was about to say something, when Jaejoong shoved a cookie in his mouth. Yoochun choked in surprise, as Jaejoong gently pat his back and Yoochun stopped choking and carefully munched on the cookie.
“Chill, Yoochun-ah, ok?” Jaejoong said, as Yoochun nodded and felt himself cool down a bit. Jaejoong left Yoochun to munch on his remaining batch of cookies and thought about how Yunho looked at him.
Jaejoong was on top of Yunho, who had his eyes closed and then opened them in confusion. He looked handsome with his clean, spiked up hair and his chocolate brown eyes boring into his. Jaejoong felt warm all over regardless of how cold the weather was in the morning, and then instantly the moment was over.
Jaejoong sighed and looked at his watch, it read 8:50. 10 more minutes until the auditions started and yet he didn’t feel any butterflies in his stomach, but more of a strange ache in his heart.
As much as he wanted the audition to be over with, he just wanted to see Yunho.
*************************************************************************************
Shit. 10 more minutes. Shit.
Yunho repeated this line in his head over and over again. The new bandages on his hand were tight, but at least it stopped the pain. His manager didn’t get caught, but luckily the secretary had a first aid kit in her desk. His manager was going to give him another stupid lecture about his hand, but he didn’t know why he got so angry all of a sudden and felt like socking his manager’s face.
He shouldn’t have to care about that girl or even think about her, she was like his other fans, dreaming about him being their husband and living happily ever after. What a bunch of BS. Like he’d ever want to get married and be stuck with household of wailing babies.
The way she looked at him, damn, what the hell was wrong with him? If she was like every other fan, then shouldn’t he see her the same way as he did with those fans? Why the fuck was he thinking about her? He couldn’t lie to himself, when the secretary was wrapping the bandages on his hand, he couldn’t stop thinking about the way she looked at him. The way her cheeks flushed when he looked at her. The way her eyes widened in surprise when she realized who he was. Damn, this girl was trouble.
“Yunho, you alright?” one of the judges asked him, Yunho recognized him, one of the former H.O.T. members, Kangta. He must’ve noticed Yunho’s frustration with something and the scowl on his face.
“Yeah, Hyung, I’m fine.” Yunho said, nodding, as the judge gave him a quick pat on the shoulder and continued talking to one of the other judges.
He noticed that the decorations were up, fancy and elegant, and he also saw the huge banner than he saw at the board meeting, hanging high above the stage. Then the host went up on the stage and spoke in the microphone in a loud, booming voice, “Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to our 2010 S.M. Entertainment auditions!”
All the video cameras were on him, as the host continued to introduce each host and as each host gave a brief introduction.
“Our S.M.’s talented dancer Jung Yunho, what do you have to say?” The host asked him, and everyone’s eyes and attention were all on him. Yunho smiled and smirked at the camera, and said “Let the auditions begin.”
************************************************************************************
“Hyung, are you ready?” Yoochun asked Jaejoong, already feeling somewhat nervous and wished he had more cookies to munch on.
Jaejoong smiled widely at Yoochun and said, “More than anything, Yoochun-ah, more than anything.”
