The show was amazing!! I think that the crowd was heavily Reba fans, but they definitely had an appreciation for Kelly's voice. She blew the roof off the arena on some songs!!
Some highlights of the show:
-Reba flubbed the words to WA. She did this at Norfolk as well, which was super cute. It's at the part where the song is like, "Are you gonna fight for me, die for me, live and breathe for me?" She just kind of gets off beat. It was cute though and she covered it well.
-Kelly was super chatty that night. She went on and on about how awesome the tour was and how much she was "obsessed" with Reba. She got up before one of the songs and was talking about country dancing and tried to imitate the dancing she did with her stepfather. Lol. At one point, during the stools part, she turned to Reba and was like, "you can sing anything!" And continued on about how Reba has such a distinct voice, but can mold it to sing any genre. When the next song started she sort of giggled and was like "I'm chatty tonight!"
-In the intro to Cathy's Clown, Kelly was saying how this was the first Reba song she had ever heard. She was like, "I was in the 6th grade and it was after volleyball practice…" and the whole crowd erupted with laughter. Reba's face at that point was like, "Thanks Kelly for making me sound so old." It was hilarious.
-I'm not really familiar with Reba's song "How Blue". But this was the song where it kind of dawned on me how good Kelly would be on a country album. Her voice sounded beautiful and surprisingly sounded perfect within that country genre.
-Ok so this was BY FAR the best live version of NA that I have ever seen. Just the entire thing was amazing. Kelly didn't sound like she was yelling at all - which I think she has at some times in the past. It was awesome. Also, the crowd was really into it and the lighting effects that they had just made it perfect. (I think that when I was so close at Norfolk, you don't really see the lights on the stage, but from farther away, it was an amazing addition to the show.)
-Ok, so I lied earlier when I said she held out a note in NA. It was actually in Miss Independent. She held out "Real love is ttttrrrruuuuuuuuuuuueeeeeeeeeee". She it held it so long that the camera like panned away and then came back to her because she was still singing. Freakin' aweseom. haha.
-MP was a riot like always tonight. When she came out for I'm A Survivor, she did her normal routine, but had her Kelly stomach talk a lot more and she did this thing where she made a "mad Kelly" face and scrunched her belly up to look like Kelly had frown lines. HILARIOUS!!
- Finally, the crowd was so into the entire concert. The show was sold out and it definitely showed. During several of the ballads, Kelly and Reba paused because of applause. Also, after AMLT, when Kelly and Reba wave, say goodbye and go off stage, the crowd didn't leave or calm down. Instead, they stood and applauded for almost five minutes, until the encore began. Seriously the volume of that area was insane and I was so impressed with the crowd enthusiasm.
