Ye gods, boilers are annoying beasts. Ours lost pressure earlier this week for no apparent reason, and naturally stopped working. So maintainance came along and repressurised it, and all was fine.
Then, today we notice that the bastard device isn't actually going off. Even if we make sure that the timer control is set to never want water. Even if we turn the switch on the boiler to "off" and set the temperature control to minumum. It's sitting there maintaining a cheery 90 degrees centigrade for no apparent reason. Now I am no expert in user interface design, but I'd generally assume that the "off" switch would have some effect, such as preventing the boiler from firing up to replenish lost heat the moment I turn on the hot tap.
And how did I finally get the damned thing to stay below 90 degrees? I killed the gas supply to the flat. Now to call maintainance again. Have any of you lot had similar troubles?
