As a lot of you know, I went on my first business trip this week. We have another training lab in Camp Hill, PA (which is near Harrisburg) so I went out with my boss to check it out. We're looking at consolidating business practices between labs and it was my job to take lots of really super important groundbreaking notes and report back to my director.
We left Tuesday morning at 7:30 which meant I had to get up at 6:00 am. That was the only bad thing about the entire trip. No, for real. My boss is only one year my senior, so we had plenty to talk about on the trip. Here are the primary things I learned while on my journey:
You get to know someone fast when you're taking a 4.5 hour road trip with them... especially when that person is a Chatty Cathy (whose name actually happens to be Cathy). Fortunately I loved every second of our conversations. We have a lot in common.
Big, beautiful hotel rooms with king-sized Sleep Number beds make me feel giddy.
Hotel wake-up calls make me feel important.
Finally having a job with a bonafide salary that provides me with these kinds of opportunities is a dream come true. I thought I found my niche before, but this is even more nichelicious than I could have ever imagined.
The bottom line is that I really enjoyed the trip and found it to be unexpectedly beneficial to observe the other lab. I am really excited for my next trip out. Maybe next quarter...
Otherwise, here are some beautiful shots of the lovely river front view from Duke's, where we had dinner.
