christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat

This weekend was a little insane.

Friday

Went to the Cage. Planned to hit up Arsenal Lanes (or "arse anal anus" if you say it a certain way) for karaoke, but we decided to settle in Squill for the night. My clothes and hair were thoroughly saturated with smoke by the time we left, which was especially fabulous.

Saturday

Got up at 9:45 (ON A SATURDAY?!?). Went to the Sliberty DMV to get Joe's photo ID, but they wouldn't do it because it's his first PA ID card. Trekked out to Penn Hills to get it done, then dropped him off at work at noon. At least I can cut his damn hair now...

Came home and showered, then went to Sean's to work on recording the xmas CD until 5:30. We finished one of my solo songs.

Left Sean's to pick up Anne Marie. Went to Giant Eagle to get groceries. Made fabulous dinner at her place and played Mexican Train Dominoes. Talked up a storm and had a generally delightful time until Midnight.

Left Anne Marie's and headed straight back to Sean's for more recording. Finished my part on one of the group songs. Got home around 4am. EXHAUSTED.

Today

Asked Joe nicely (and whiningly) to take the bus to work. Slept until 2. YES.

Showered and hit the road for Monroeville to shop. The roads were wet, but ok. I did initially have a little freak-out because when I was lifting my driver's side wiper to scrape the ice, it bent. It was only wiping the bottom half in front of me at first. Luckily it bent back on its own after about 30 minutes.

Stopped at Pat Catan's for a gift cert for my boss, who works with polymer clay. Also got some discount cards to use for the Dozen cupcards.

Got the rest of what I needed at JoAnn Fabs: Some general holiday AND some Christmas themed pattern paper for the Dozen cards and other uses, layered snowflake stickers, tape runner refills, a holiday tin & an inspirational calendar (also for the boss), and a cute little polkadot pinky ring for yours truly.

Came back around 5, when the roads were FAR worse. Got Joe from work and came back to the homestead.

Finished the stationery I'm making for my Secret Santee and decorated the little box I'm giving it in.

Got a call that there would be no In Acchord rehearsal tonight due to weather. Celebrated a little because this meant I could finish everything I needed to without rushing.

Well, for now at least. I still need to make the cupcake cards for Dozen as soon as possible. I'll start those tonight.
