My new job is certainly more difficult than my old one, but it turns out to have been quite a good decision. Aside from purely the pay, even simply doing secretarial work for a mayor is considerably more intellectually stimulating than waiting tables. I suppose I find even the bureaucratic workings of government interesting, and it will be a good way to pass the time.
Of course, if we're being realistic, I have to admit there is something of a conflict here. Considering that everyone is trapped here, it's only logical that some people might want me to use the position to gather information or attempt to make requests of Mayor Ari. It would probably be for the best for me to not publicize my employment too wildly, as while I would certainly be happy to do some small favors for friends, it wouldn't do to do anything that would jeopardize such an interesting opportunity.

My apologies if I've seemed busier than normal lately, especially as it seems there's been quite a bit going on on the island. It is disheartening to hear about so many disappearances...
