hello there!
I'm a longtime user of LJ, who is trying to come back here. I like to make lifelong connections with people - most of my FL are people that I have known for many years. I have met quite a few out in the real world and they're all my favorite people on the planet. I would like to add some new faces to my online family, as it's been pretty quiet around here lately.
So, getting that out of the way: hello! My name is Sabrina. I am a 31 year old living in a little Missouri town about 45 minutes west of St Louis. I live with my boyfriend of 5 years, Nick, and our two children ; Skyler (8) and Finn (4). For the past 6 months, I've been a stay-at-home mom, before that - I was in retail management. Those are the basics.
My journal is mostly me rambling on about my day, it can be pretty boring I guess. I love my kids, of course, but they're not the only thing I talk about. I do enjoy traveling a lot so I try to do that as often as I can, and photography is one of my favorite hobbies. I'm trying to use my actual camera again instead of my phone - so picture posts will be common. I like to play video games (xbox one, mostly diablo 3 and monster hunter), bake, paint, read and write, binge watch netflix/hulu, and play with the kids. I'm also obsessed with all things Disney and pop culture. I'm an animal person, I love all creatures big & small. So that's most of what you can expect to find me talking about usually. I can find something in common with most people & really enjoy getting to learn about different cultures and lifestyles. I think that's my favorite part about livejournal, knowing the inner thoughts and feelings of all kinds of people is just so fascinating.
A few favorites, just to get an idea of my tastes:
books: I will read mostly anything at least once but my favorites are fantasy/science fiction. I really love Neil Gaiman and Stephen King. Some of my all time favorites are the Harry Potter series, His Dark Materials, the Chronicles of Narnia, the Call of the Wild, and Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. I'm currently reading the Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss.
tv shows: 30 rock, parks and rec, new girl, supernatural, brooklyn 99, the good place, and kimmy schmidt are a few of my go to favorites. I'm currently watching Lost in Space and am really enjoying that. I also love cartoons, especially the ones I grew up on, such as TIny Toons, Darkwing Duck, Talespin, Chip and Dale - rescue rangers, Bonkers, etc.
movies: The Lord of the Rings triology is my absolute favorite. I'm also a huge fan of Star Wars, all of the Marvel movies, Harry Potter, and anything Disney. Moana is one of my favorites at the moment, it's just sooo good. Who cares that I'm a grown adult?
music: Alkaline Trio and Jimmy Eat World will always have a special place in my heart. Current favorites are Halsey, Taylor Swift, Logic, and 21 Pilots.
