Ahaha, I love how Kibum smiles, because it's his default setting, and I completely agree with how it's not fake, but it's not true either, because I really think the reason Kibum's smile works so well is that it's a genuine smile; it doesn't feel practiced and fake, but he smiles so much that his personality has become subsumed by that smile. Which is really interesting.
He smiles back, then, and gives you a one shouldered shrug. You watch his eyes crinkle at the corners, the dimple that’s hard to miss.
I love this, how they both have these set reactions, Kibum with his smile and Eeteuk with his cute, and how somehow the two cancel out when they do it to each other. Very neat.
“Take a shower and warm up,” he says as he stands, careless of the book, which falls to the floor with a thump. He stretches, back arching, flash of skin between his shirt and his pajama pants. “I’ll make you some tea.”
This is just so so cute, Also, the kitty imagery with Eeteuk is really adorable, and I've never really thought about it, but he is really feline. Very fitting.
You could use a haircut, you think. You brush your fingers over the glass, touching the cold reflection of your cheekbones, your chin, your smile. You watch the bags under your eyes and the tightened corners of your mouth, and you smile them away.
This is somehow really sad. It's so surface vs depth, with Kibum obsessing over the surface, but then--
Eeteuk smiles at you, and you watch his eyes flick over your body, down and then back up. “Tea’s ready,” he says, meeting your eyes steadily with a slight shrug and dry fingers brushing over your damp shoulder, curling down the back of your arm, the outline of your tricep. You clear your throat.
Eeteuk comes in and is all mmmm, yummy, and snaps Kibum out of his emo, which is just fantastically so cute and adorable ♥ And I love how Eeteuk's like, touches and Kibum's just like ahem!. I can somehow just totally see that. XD.
“Here,” he says, and holds out a mug. You watch his reflection in the window, but he doesn’t meet your eyes. He’s watching your back, the curve of your spine through your white t-shirt.
And I really love this imagery, because it's like Eeteuk wants to see below the surface, he's focusing on real things, not on reflections.
“Thanks,” you say, and you slide around so your back is pressed to the cold glass of the window;
And then Kibum being all freaked out by the watching, because he's not sure where it's going, he's used to reflections and mirrors and surface, not the touching and the heat and the wanting.

This is just a really interesting image, because I'd associate smooth and green with something cool and healing, but it's scalding hot. Pretty.
He just returns to his sprawl on the couch and sips his own mug of tea, silent.
XD. And then how Eeteuk doesn't care to ask about why he was all wet and out so late, because he knows that's what Kibum wants, to talk about things that don't really matter, so he doesn't have to talk about things that do.
He’s not grinning, but you smile anyway, lips quirked at the edges. You lean your head back against the window, you drink your tea and you relish the quiet sound of the rain on the pavement.
This is just so peaceful and serene, I really like it. And of course Kibum falls back into his smile, but Eeteuk's breaking it down little by little.

I love this, because it's so true, but such a pretty way of putting it. And the metaphorical level of how Kibum can't get the knots and tangles out.

This is a really nice image too, it feels so slow and heavy, like it is.
The wood floor is cold under your butt, but you’ve slept on it already with no sore muscles, so you think you could get used to it.
This is really interesting too, how Kibum is all laaaazy, and not sore. think I will just sleep here. I feel like that's how his smile works too; it's all Kibum being lazy, and letting what works work.
The cushions are magic on your cold thighs, and you sigh. Eeteuk’s feet are under your hip, but you don’t care, curling up against the armrest and letting your eyes fall shut.
And this is just so adorable with Kibum being all snuggly and "oh fine" finally sort of accepting being touched. He's so sleepy and cuddly here. *awwww*
You can still hear the plinks and patters of the rain on the window, and when the fingers weave into your hair, you let them.
Hee! Back to the hair imagery, I really like how it bookends this part, with Kibum and his fingers in his tangly hair and then Eeteuk tangling his hands in it.
You’re warm when you wake again, warm and secure and relaxed. You shift slightly, wiggling your fingers, and find that you’re trapped on the couch, wedged between the back and Eeteuk’s body. The fingers of his hand are wrapped in the hem of your t-shirt, the flat of his palm resting against your belly. His other hand is curled under his head, which is leaning on the cushion just by your chest. You can feel the warmth of his breath on your collarbones, sliding across your skin. His hipbones are pressed, pointed, against the tops of your thighs, his feet, bony toes, curled under your heels. He looks precariously balanced and very young, and you brush your fingers over his cheek before you can think about. The fingers curled in your shirt clench slightly, thumb grazing just under your belly button, and you shiver faintly, but you don’t pull your hand away from his face. You curve it under his jaw, thumb touching the skin just under his ear. You can feel his pulse jump under the heel of your palm.
I'm sorry to quote such a long long part, but just. So much love for all the description here. The movement is so languid and sexy, but at the same time completely homey somehow. I can't even describe how much love I have for this part, it just blows me away with the brilliance. How they're touching everywhere, how they fit together, and the movement. It makes me breathless just reading it. ♥

Eeteuk grins, and you can feel the hum of it on your fingers, red orange hot.
Mmm, this is just deliciously pretty imagery. I especially like the red orange hot, it conveys the sense of shades of heat really well.

Aww, Kibum. Kibum is so instinctive, it's really quite interesting. I never thought about it like that, but he does have such a careful balance of instinct and control, like the smile is about control, but motivated by instinct, because it tends to produce set reactions from people, reactions Kibum knows how to respond to.
You kiss him, bite at the corner of his lips, slide your tongue into his mouth. He doesn’t seem surprised. He pushes you more firmly against the back of the couch, and he runs his fingers over your stomach, and he smiles as he kisses you.
And I really like how it's Eeteuk who makes the first move, but it's Kibum who kisses him first, and Eeteuk's like finally, and they are all snuggly and cute and it's really an equal footing, how they just click, gah. So so cute.
You listen to the rain, and you can almost taste it in his mouth, cool and clean, sweet.
All the rain imagery is just so fitting, it totally characterizes this pairing, how it's soft and constant, but it not violent or hurried or demanding. Very calm and serene and just so comfortable.
When you pull away, you press your face into the crook of his neck, smelling the scent of his skin, feeling him breathe against you, chest pressed to yours, legs tangled.
This sense of fitting together is really strong, and god this pairing. Such love. They are so genuinely adorable, it's really about what's underneath the surface completely.
You decide that when he smiles, you don’t have to.
♥ that's just such a perfect ending, how Kibum lets Eeteuk smile for him, realizes that he doesn't have to use that all the time.

I definitely agree with that you've said. Kibum smiles partially because that's how he feels, and partially because it's what people expect of him. And I love him for it; it makes him so much more interesting to write. (and it makes me want to write him when he's less in control)
I have no idea why, but Eeteuk reminds me of a little kitty, cute and graceful. Aww, Eeteuk. (It so took him longer than he thought it was going to to win over Kibum)

SUCH CUTE SQUISHY LOVE. Squishy is somehow the best word to describe it and I have no idea why except that it's just cute. And you are right, they are more balanced than most of the sujupairings out there, and that makes it easier for there not to be emo between them. Because they just fit together, like puzzle pieces.
