I had a bad day at work today so it was with much relief that I sat down at my computer when finally had a chance to relax and sit in front of the computer for a few minutes when what should pop into my field of view, but... a freakin' bird!

In case you have not noticed, birds don't generally like me. In fact it would be more correct to say that they hate me, attack me at will, and (generally speaking, of course) hunger for my suffering. And not in a good way.

So after the screaming subsided, I did the only logical thing: I closed the bird in the office and I called Leigh and asked her to get beer on the way home.

I mean, he may have only been five inches long beak-to-tail-feathers, but at least five inches of that was razor-sharp beak and he looked PISSED. And as I ran past the door, I saw that Sam (the cat) was asleep on the bed in the room across the hall. Clearly we feed him too much.

I did manage to gather my wits and the scariest thing in the house (a painting my sister had made me) long enough to chase the bird out the office window. I've only a theory of how he might have gotten in, and until I have a chance to rule it out the bathroom vent fan in the guest bathroom will remain on. And the badminton racket will be under my bed.
