Getting to know me...

Jan 26, 2011 21:50

Name: Pretend Mulling (or just Mulling) is fine with me.

Age: 22.

About me: I'm a Munchkin. No really: I'm barely five feet in shoes.

I'm also a foodie, a crazy cat lady in-the-making, a Lil' Monster, and completely unpredictable.

About my journal:

What I write: At the moment, fanfiction. Namely Harry Potter fanfiction. My favorite character is Snape, and while I'm not an avid shipper, I'm currently working on an AU Severus/Lily-themed story, as well as one where Severus has to raise his niece after his sister disappears. They can both be found at my FF.net account.

When I'm not writing fanfic, I'm writing humorous accounts of my daily life and trying to find new ways to say, "My cat is an idiot." I'm also trying to pick up the pieces of a novel I started in high school and re-work the main characters into something besides Mary-Sue and her boyfriend Marty Stu.

I'm also trying to figure out how to adapt a novel into a screenplay. All of the advice out there is aimed toward people writing original screenplays. Harroomph.

What I don't write: Smut, basically. My fanfics do contain sex scenes, but never explicit ones and they're very, very few and far between.

What I read: Fiction. My favorite genres are young adult, post-modernism, sci-fi, fantasy, and realistic fiction. My favorite author is Chris Crutcher.

What I don't read: Anything with a weak plot AND badly-developed characters AND a poor writing style. Or just anything with badly-developed characters, but I can let that slide if the plot is interesting enough. I don't really let it slide too far, however; I am a freak about character development (hence why I prefer Snape to Harry, for example), so if a story has an awesome character that I adore, I'll let the plot and writing style slide further than I would if the characters were only "meh".

What I'm looking for: Fellow writers to talk with, laugh with, be merry with, and bounce ideas off.

humor, realism, young adult, novels, screenplays, psychological, comedy, fanfiction
