Name: Jenny
Age: 26
About Me: I am just a normal girl who happens to be a total geek :D
About My Journal: Its a bit of everything.
What I Write: Pretty much anything that my muse feels like getting me into. I prefer things like fantasy, drama, and magical realism though. I write both original and fan works as well as all other forms of writing (but mostly the first two). I certainly enjoy making my characters like real people and making my plots like real situations (well as real as you can get with fantasy and magic lol). I also enjoy writing on the topic of writing, particularly about things like cliches and Mary Sue's (I am the author of The Original ANTI Universal Mary Sue Litmus Test).
What I Don't Write: I don't write flat characters just to fulfill some random plot idea inside my head. I usually don't write futuristic or sci-fi stuff either, not because I don't like it (I love it), I just haven't had any good ideas or experience in writing it. I prefer magic to guns is all really. Also I almost never write pure romance, its always mixed with something. I don't mind romance, just not on its own. I seriously dislike romanticism and how everything these days is romanticized.
What I Read: My favorite books are things like Harry Potter, Sweep, and the Fear Street Sagas. I enjoy mostly witch/magic related books enough though I will read anything that catches my eye.
What I Don't Read: Anything that has been romanticized or something that just is totally wrong in all things writing (ie. stuff like Twilight). I am not much for straight anything - like just horror or just action or just sci-fi. Live doesn't work that way and I prefer to be able to imagine that the story is plausible rather than just a quick little escape.
Other Interests: anything fun, living and enjoying life :)
Willing to Edit Someone Else's Work?: Of course, do it all the time actually.
What I'm looking for: Writing friends, I think we all know how hard it is to find friends that you can talk shop with, even harder when you move away from specific fandoms/genres. I am open for anything from exchanging works to discussions to help to just talking about things other than writing. I like talking with me, and it that person happens to be a writer as well than that's awesome :) I especially love talking with people who may or may not agree with me on things like Mary Sue's/cliches/other writing topics because that is my little niche in the writing community. Writing is fun, and having people to share in that just makes it that much better!
