About Me: Jerry here. I churn out fiction like some kind of free pulp magazine for the digital age. I am a thorough and present editor/critique-er/feedback-giver, and want you to do the same for me. I really like working collaboratively, like group improv in theater, music, and dance. We all agree on a premise and then see what we come up with within the structure. It's not "my world and my characters" - it's a world, with some characters (more can be added as long as they "yes, and-" the premise, and if you'd like to come play in it, I'd love to have you.
About My Journal: It's 95% original fiction, and 5% politics/humor/life stuff.
What I Write: Right now my main project is a just-under-the-radar satire - a character-driven drama featuring high fantasy/fairy tale archetypes. It reads like military fantasy or historical fiction, all feudal politics, international warfare, and human drama and a low-magic world. It's what would happen if we fleshed out real people on the character premises like The Disney Princess, Prince Charming, The Evil Younger Brother, The Wicked Stepsister, The Knight In Shining Armour, The Damsel In Distress, The Evil Queen, etc and let them interact. I like to call it "the morning after Happily Ever After."
What I Read: I devour anything that's a character-driven drama irrelevant to the trappings of genre around it. I tend to have problems swallowing romance and YA and things I can't suspend disbelief for.
Could I Edit Someone Else's Work: Yes, absolutely!
What I'm Looking For: People to collaborate with to any degree. You don't have to be an "expert" at anything to be useful to me - if you just read it and give me your gut reactions and answer my questions about things like "what does this guy seem like to you? what do you think will happen next now that you've read this?" so I can gauge if it's coming off the way I want it to, it will be helpful. On the other end of the spectrum if you like to get super involved in theoretical character and dramatic trope discussions and want to pick it apart intellectually with me, by all means! I'd love that too. I absolutely do offer what I ask and will gladly put as much energy into any work of yours that you would like help with.
