Name: Natasha
Age: 29
Location: Winnipeg, Canada
About Me: After having changed my major more than one too many times I recently dropped out of university. I still study history on my own. I'm introverted and actually tend to be reclusive but if I'm in the right mood I will hang out with people and have a laugh.
Interests: history, mythology, Pre-Raphaelite art, architecture, ballet, jewellery, antiques...
TV: I love Hex. I also enjoy Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dark Shadows, The IT Crowd, Seinfeld.
Music: Glam, Goth, opera, classical...
Movies: Top 5: Velvet Goldmine, Hedwig & the Angry Inch, Withnail and I, Some Like It Hot, Willow.
Books: I've actually lost count of how many times I've read The Picture of Dorian Gray. It will always be my favorite. A few others I love- Tess of the d'Urbervilles, Wuthering Heights, The Great Gatsby, Dangerous Liasons.
About My Journal: I post my short stories and poems, book reviews, quotes, and the occasional literary essay.
What I Write/Don't Write: My stories fall into the categories of historical fiction or Gothic. By Gothic I mean classic supernatural/terror, not modern horror. I detest modern horror. My poetry is sometimes inspired by the Graveyard Poets. I enjoy the sonnet form and the ballad. I detest abstract poetry. ( I also hate slash.)
What I Read: For the most part I read classic literature; I'm also quite interested in historical fiction.
Could I Edit Someone's Work: I'd rather not edit but I'd be happy to give my general impressions/feedback. And that would be done in a positive manner, by the way. I believe in constructive criticism.
What I'm Looking For: Generally people with interests similar to mine. None of my friends are writers- it would be cool to know some. I would appreciate hearing your general opinion on the work I post, just the basics of what you like or don't like about it, I'm not looking for in depth critiques. Also I should just say- I might've given the impression of being a bit of a snob but I'm actually a nice person. :)
