Name: Saxface

Location/Background: Mother of a three year old girl, full-time student (socio-cultural anthropology), husband lives in France, I live in US, going back to France in December and will try to get my PhD in anthropology and be a stand up anthropologist. I was an unthinking liberal for most of my life and have recently (last five years) begun to explore different ways of viewing social structures, institutions and ideologies.

Ideologies/Politics: Straight up anarchist mostly but still learning and figuring things out

I've enjoyed reading the intros posted to this community and hearing about radically (har har) different perspectives. I'm wondering if anyone wants to share how you got your views - was it through your family, your friends, books you've read, your cultural or ethnic history, your schooling or professors you've had, an intellectual mentor, personal experiences, etc.? In other words, what made you think like you do?

misc: discussions, ideology: anarchism, location: continent: north america, location: continent: europe, location: country: usa, location: country: france
