Title: Anniversaries
Rating: PG-15
Pairing: JongKey
Summary: Jonghyun tries to find the perfect gift for Kibum.

Jonghyun's figured maybe he shouldn't work his ass off for anything in his life until he meets the one. Aside from that, he promised himself he'd give anything, completely anything to make whoever he's destined for happy-- even if it means trying to guess what his special other wants for a gift.

He clutched his iPhone, scouring the 3rd floor of the 5th mall he'd visited exactly a week before their first anniversary. Finally disinterring the touch-screen gadget from his hands, he slid his finger to unlock it and pressed the contact icon.

Lee Jinki, Lee Jinki, Lee Jinki, where are you? Why are there so many Lee's on this thing?! He thought, rapidly scrolling the digital contact book for the name of one his best friends and one of the people who know Kibum as well as he does. As soon as Jonghyun found the name, hidden among hundreds of others with the surname of Lee, he called the man, walking briskly past other citizens around the whole floor.

"Yoboseyo?" A deep voice greeted from the other line.

"Ya, Jinki hyung. If you had one day to give someone an anniversary present and you couldn't get it on any other part of the week because you'll be busy and that person will probably catch on to you, what would you do?" The blonde-and-brown-haired male navigated his way through a lax crowd, obviously in a frustrated rush.

With the question being formed by a cannon of connected words, Jinki didn't quite understand the question and started to put the words together. "Uhh..." he replied, in a state of daze.

Jonghyun stopped and looked at the reference board, still waiting for Jinki's answer. It was the 4th floor that had different kinds of clothing like the board had said. As he made his way up, Jinki still had no reply.

"Look, if you don't know, just tell me."

"Would it help if I told you that you should get him gifts similar to your month-sary gifts?" Jinki was running out of ideas and Jonghyun was pretty pissed.

"We don't have month-saries. At least, not anymore."

"Eh? Why not?"

"Well..." Jonghyun trailed off, remembering his and Kibum's 5th monthsary. 5 was Kibum's favorite number and at that time, it was an accomplishment since Kibum never let any guy get pass 3 months. But he didn't want to celebrate alone, oh no. Despite Jonghyun's protests (heavily-influenced by the tent that grows in his pants every second he sees his boyfriend), Kibum wanted to celebrate it with friends-- specifically his insane friend Luna, androgynous college buddy, Amber and the Lee's, Jinki and his adorable little brother, Taemin.

"Fine-- but we're dragging Minho along." It was Jonghyun's only condition and he hoped his tall, big-eyed man-friend could save him from bitchy, useless, all-night rants.

"Fine." Kibum had confirmed; who was he to argue? Minho was his friend first, anyway, Jonghyun would be falling into another of his unplanned traps.

But it wasn't fine, not at all.

That night, 4 out of 7 of them got drunk-- even the little jailbait they tagged along. The only ones to remain sober were Jinki, Kibum and Luna. Jonghyun and Amber started making origami panties from napkins free at the bar, giggling as they drew laces on it and pinning them onto Kibum's crotch area ("Hey everyone, my boyfriend's a Victoria's Secret Angel!" Jonghyun had announced, standing on top of a table and pointing to the humiliated Kibum. "Victoria," Amber snickered and slurred. "I like Victoria.") and Minho had taken Taemin into the bathroom without restraint, the long-haired boy didn't hesitate either. By the end of that night, Kibum had driven Jonghyun home (as with Luna and Amber and Jinki and Minho and Taemin). And again, by the end of that night, Kibum's expensive shoes were covered in Jonghyun's disgusting green vomit.

"Oh, yeah. Nevermind I asked then," Jinki had thought back on the memory too; remembering how even though Taemin was putting his clothes back on Minho kept taking them out, ferociously kissing the younger's shoulders, neck and chest at the backseat of Jinki's own car, murmuring 'Tae, it's okay. Your hyung won't see us.' Now, he really didn't want to remember anything anymore.

"Hey, remember your first month-sary where you bought Kibum a huge boquet of roses and made him this gourmet prawn thingy but then in the end he was actually allergic to both?" The voice on the other end of Jonghyun's line laughed. The sound of roaring laughter and the banging of fists on a table had blared through the iPhone speaker.

"Yes, I do. Thank you and shut up." Jonghyun's asperity had told Jinki maybe it was time to stop dwelling on the past. "So, you're telling me you have no idea what a potential anniversary gift for Kibum is either?

Jinki hummed. "Yep. Hey, why don't you just get him a puppy, or whatever?"

"Because he already has Coco and Roo will probably impregnate her one day or something," Jonghyun walked to the shelf of Fedoras and examined the expensive hats one by one."You know what, nevermind. I've got a whole week to go, right? I mean, I can probably sneak in the shopping in between photoshoots and variety shows, or whatever." He bit his lower lip, recalling his schedules for the week.

"Man, being an idol must be hard." Jinki said.

"It is."

"When are you going to take me to a chicken CF set?"

Friday afternoon had arrived so quickly after laughs with gag men and fierce faces taken by photographers. Jonghyun ran his hand through his hair, lying down on his white couch, legs dangling off the edge and eyes fixed on some show about alligators. This week, the stylist noonas had already dyed his hair back to brown since his promotions for his album had already finished and the millions of strands on his ego-induced head already done dryer than before. Oh, the perks of being an idol.

He pressed the + button on his remote, the TV screen changing into a old, blonde American woman named Martha Stewart mixing chocolate batter in a stainless, steel bowl.

Jonghyun watched in disgust. Chocolate. He hated chocolate, it was over-rated and bland. He had no idea exactly why Kibum loved it so much. On second thought, he's never given him any chocolate despite the fact that Kibum's fridge was filled with American-branded chocolate like Hersheys or Kit-Kats. That's when he realized maybe he should give Kibum something chocolate, or even better make him the chocolate cake that Martha Stewart's making.

Quickly jumping off his couch, he grabbed the nearest piece of paper and wrote down what Martha was saying and doing. He'd decided he'd be sedulous with his present and maybe add a little romance once he gives it to his lover. Maybe dim the lights, set some vanilla-scented candles, make dinner and have Kibum suck the chocolate icing off his fingers for dessert. Tomorrow night would be fun.

After he'd finish taking down his notes, Jonghyun had come to a realization. He didn't have any chocolate and he had no idea what to buy. What was the difference between baking chocolate and normal chocolate anyway? Did it really make a difference if he bought another brand? He plopped himself down on his couch again and thought, who, besides Kibum, knew how to bake. Jinki hyung only knew how to cook, sure, but he's never seen the guy touch baking soda or whatever white powdery stuff. Taemin, on the other hand, was forbidden from the kitchen by his own parents (they feared that the 18 year-old boy would cut his fingers off or burn the whole house down). Minho wasn't even an option. The only time Jonghyun's seen the guy interact with food is when he's making a sandwich or scarfing things down his throat.

Maybe a girl would help? Amber was absolutely horrible at cooking, burning even sweet potato fries. He didn't even want to consider Luna, thinking she'd probably put these weird things in the mixture like cat or dog hair. And it hit him, the person who made the best pudding around town and owned her own bakery, his friend, Sunny. She was a sweet, petite young woman would a cheerful personality and was always willing to help others.

Jonghyun took his black jacket off his coat stand and his cellphone from his table as he made his way through the door.

Sunny owned a blue and yellow bakery in one of the busiest streets in the city. This way, businessmen and people who commuted would maybe stop by for some cookies and coffee. She named it Sunny, after herself and the way the bright yellow exterior stood out amongst tall gray buildings.

Jonghyun went inside with his shades and beanie, greeting Sulli the girl who manned the cashier. She was like Sunny in a way that her smile would light up dark corners of any room.

"Is Sunny noona here?" he asked.

"Down here!" A small voice called from under the counter and a tiny hand surfacing. "Lemme just fix something."

Jonghyun stepped backwards. What in the world is she doing down there?

She stood up, brushing her white and yellow frilly apron while flashing her smile. "Kim Jonghyun. Haven't seen you since you debuted."

"Nice to see you too, Noona," he smiled back. "Well, you, of all people, should understand with all the busy schedules and what not."

Sunny frowned. "Yeah. I do." she sighed. "But you know, it gets tiring. Sometimes you just want to stop and just be a normal person again."

Jonghyun felt a little guilty for making Sunny seem so sad all of a sudden, knowing how his used-to-be sunbaenim must've missed the life of an idol even though she was very happy from where she left of.

"If I know Kim Jonghyun right, he must want something from me," She smiled again, ignoring the last snippet of their conversation. "Don't you?"

"Yeah, see," He scratched the back of his head. Did she really think he was that self-centered? "It's kinda my anniversary tomorrow with someone and I haven't really prepared anything and then I saw this Malda Seutoowado person on TV. I tried to get her recipe for her chocolate cake but she was speaking in English and--"

"Say no more, my hoobae," Sunny cut him off, taking a book from inside her counter drawer. "I have her cookbook."

"I-It's in English!" Jonghyun took it in his hand, opening it and flipping through its glossy pages full of un-understandble words. "H-How am I--"

"Aish. What happened to the little daredevil I knew? Stop worrying and take me to your apartment." She lifted the wooden barrier, grabbing Jonghyun's hand and running out the door, a little bell going ding! as a sign of exit.

It took them three hours to get everything right (it included the dinner Jonghyun was planning) and Jonghyun's once-clean kitchen was a mess (and it was mostly his fault too). Powder was everywhere and different utensils and bowls were stacked up in the steel sink, waiting to be washed. Jonghyun paid no attention though and did every thing Sunny told him to do. After all was done, Sunny bid her goodbye and wished the younger the best of luck.

"He's going to like it, trust me." She reassured him and waved goodbye. "Annnyeong!"

And with that, Jonghyun retired to sleep, exhausted and smelling like, to him, what was the most disgusting thing in the world, chocolate.

Saturday morning came and Jonghyun couldn't have been more excited. He quickly took a shower after getting out of bed and ran to his car, driving off to Kibum's condominium, much to a sleepy Kibum's dismay.

"Jjong, what the fuck. It's eight o'clock in the morning." Kibum murmured, voice muffled by a fluffy white pillow that covered his face. His girl-like framed entangled within a white duvet, which later Jonghyun removed from him and instead entangled his own limbs with his lover's.

"Wake up," he kissed Kibum's ear. "We're going shopping."

"Now? Five minutes, please." Kibum replied and rolled over, desperate for a little more sleep. He'd been up all night listening to his friend, Krystal, sob over how much everyone hated her and her huge jealousy issues with her older sister, Jessica.

"We can do a lot of things in 5 minutes, did you know that?" Jonghyun whispered into Kibum's nape, sniffing the brown hair above it.

"Fine. I'll get up." Kibum lazily pushed him away and stood up to sleepily walk to his bathroom. "Don't even think about following me in here." He shouted from inside.

"So, what's the plan?" Kibum came out of his bathroom in a baby pink bathrobe and white towel wrapped around his head. He was twisting the the cotton bud inside his ear while waiting for Jjong's answer.

"Well, shopping," Flashing his smile, Jonghyun had never been so excited before.

"You're taking me shopping? You're actually taking me shopping?"

"Do you want it or not?"

"I do. I want it. I want it so bad."

Wow, I wish you could say that somewhere else. Jonghyun thought while chuckling to himself. "Well, go call Luna."

"Are you trying to tell me I'm going shopping with someone else when you just woke me up at 8 o'clock in the morning, thinking we'd spend the whole day together?!" Kibum threw his cotton bud straight into his trashbin next to his bed.

"Yes. Sort of. We'll see each other tonight. Promise."

"Fine."

"Fine."

7 in the evening came and Kibum was getting pretty impatient after Jonghyun had promised to pick him up from the mall at 6:30. Not like the day wasn't fun, picking new pants and shoes, he was itching to find out what Jonghyun had prepared or what took him so long.

A silver Porsche came abound the corner and stopped in front of Kibum with his arms crossed. The window rolled down revealing Jonghyun with a sheepish smile on his face. "I love what you're wearing today."

Kibum opened the door and hopped in. "Shut up and drive." He slammed the door shut.

Jonghyun stopped the car in front of his building, getting out and opening the door for Kibum. He took a little black handkerchief from his pocket and tied it around Kibum's head to cover his boyfriend's fox-like eyes.

"What in the world are you doing?" The brown-haired boy said putting his hands on his hips. "I swear to God if you try BDSM on me I'll rip off your crotch."

"I'm not, I'm not. Just follow me." Jonghyun took Kibum's hand in his and led him to the lobby, into the elevator and to his apartment. the smell of vanilla wafting out and the little tongues of flames atop the candle wick lighting the dark apartment. He took the blind fold off as Kibum's expression changed into a very touched and surprised one.

"You're the sweetest thing ever." Jonghyun smiled when he heard the compliment, locking the door and wrapping his strong arms around Kibum's thin waist. The night went by smoothly.

Kibum awoke the next morning, sleeping on Jonghyun's strong chest and the cold air nibbling at his exposed feet.

"Good morning." Jonghyun greeted, inreasing the volume on his TV. "How was that for an anniversary present, huh?"

"Jonghyun."

"Yeah?"

"Our anniversary isn't until next week."

A/N: I feel very mean doing that to Jjong. LOL. I know I haven't posted in a while and stuff but at least today I have no school, right~? 8D
