I hate rehearsals like the one we had tonight.
I love rehearsals like the one we had last night.
Tonight was... hard. Every one was tired, and lines weren't right, and I felt like I was doing a terrible job, because I kept dropping line after line while Kelly was layering my stuff with so much blocking, and nuancing, and it feels so late in the game to be doing that. But after a good chat with KellyStowell, she pointed out that he's doing it because he trusts me to do the work, and get that stuff straight in time and to pull it out.
Last night was a blast. Everyone was laughing, and having a good time, and everything we were doing was ridiculous, and felt so good.
Easter is coming up.
I love Easter.
This year is hard though. My grandmother broke her foot in January, and is still walking with a cane and everything, and can't handle a lot. So we're doing something small at her house. Easter is not small in my family. My mom, sister and I will sit in the sun porch with a window open, a hot plate, and 6 mugs full of food coloring on the back table, and sit there with pencils with pin needles in the erasers, and decorate eggs for 5 hours a night for a week and a half. And only get maybe two dozen eggs out of that. We might do a dozen this year, because we haven't even started yet.
I hate growing up.
