So Pan's Labrynth was probably one of the most amazing movies I've ever seen in my 17 years. I'd like to say I can recommend this to everyone, but I don't think so. You have to be ready for (a) subtitles (it's in Spanish), (b) really heavy, serious subject matter, (c) some graphic and/or implied violence, and (d) to think. But seriously, it was just beautifully done. Really good special effects and an amazing story line that get Del Toro's points across very clearly. It's artsy, but not overly so in my opinion. It's kind of hard to watch in certain parts, but not because it's gross. I don't know. I don't want to go too much in depth. Sarah gives the beautiful, thoughtful, and poignant Pan's Labrynth an A+.
I use that word a lot lately. "Poignant". I love it. I think it is one of my favorites.
So my mother and I have decided that I'm the artsy daughter, and Laura's going to be the uber main stream daughter who listens to pop music and see teen comedies and thinks they're the best movies she's ever seen. I like that. I'd rather be the hippie daughter who searchs for thoughtful ways to fill her time.
