We are animals
Tearing from limb to limb
What's an appendage without these teeth sinking in?
We are carnivores
Nuptial arrangements made
Sprinkling the ashes and the words are not obeyed
The house crumbled with the cards
But they never tore us apart
I found you burried in the sand
I know you only looked for my hand
Skin, bone, blood, and what did we forget?
Mores only change when the sun rises
"Are you playing hard to get?"
Words resonate like the beaten drum
And the sheets are so cool
So they say with time all is settled
I would wager to bet the pot was black still with the kettle
But they never knew diversity when they held on
To all the colors of the eyes fixed upon
My pencil wears thin and all that has come to me
Will return void if you do not see

I was thinking?
I was thinking
I was thinking
God knows what
And this is my fright
