i put this off for so long.
During my visit to Franch, I went to the Louvre; the art gallery that was depicted in the film The Davinci Code. I had been looking forward to seeing the famous paintings by Leonardo Da Vinci.
The museum was tremendiously large holding about 35,000 pieces from civilizations of the ancient world and as well as works from Islam, it would have taken me at least 3 visits to be able to see every single magnificent work of art. But since i only had one day I decided to stick to my original plan and find the art of Da Vinci.
I was fortunate enough to get a glimpse of the Mona Lisa, which was astonishing, i wish i could have been closer so i could admire the intricate brush strokes, but unfortunately i had to view from behind a security rope. The security within the museum is very tense, many famous painting robberies have happened in the past.
All in all, the day was one to remember, the Louvre is one thing that makes France very unique.
I need that all in French :(
