[accidental voice post start; for several minutes, all you can hear is the occasional tapping of distant footsteps. Someone groans, followed by rustling fabric.]
...hnn...? What...
[a pause.] No... no--damnit!
[He growls angrily. Something metal is thrown across the room, hitting the wall and clattering noisily to the floor.]
Soku, soku, hoa, kaba!

I'm glad to know that you're alive. I came all this way to find you, only... you were already long gone from Gohl. I was so scared, and sad...

To be alive. Does it really mean that much anymore? Am I truly still alive, after all that has happened?
No matter. I will return to Gohl soon.

If it didn't mean that much to you, then why didn't you do something to keep Naminé from following you? Or say that you were going to try to do what you could? ...I think your life has plenty of meaning, Vaati. If not to you, then at least to others.
All right. I'll be waiting for you.

I don't think I can name a single person in Hyrule who would be sad if I died. If you were to ask anyone from my world they would give you a thousand reasons to hate me.

There's just one problem with that, Vaati. This world isn't Hyrule, or even the underground.
No one has to feel that they should hate the fact that we exist anymore, and it has only gotten much harder to leave the people who love us behind.

I don't know why anyone would hate you. You're too kind to produce such an emotion.
They're good reasons, to hate me. You have no idea what I've done, what I am.
Reply
Simply because I exist, and because I'm not like them. That's the only reason they ever needed to hate me.
Maybe not, but you're still you. And I like the person that you are here. That won't change.

What a ridiculous reason.
...I can't believe you people. You'd still like me if I came at you with a claymore, wouldn't you? You shouldn't trust everyone so blindly.

I'm glad that you think so. It may not sound like it means much by itself here, but it does still mean a lot to me. Thank you.
I don't think that I'm blind, Vaati. I just don't think that you would ever try to do something like that to me.
Reply
Perhaps it's because I've gotten used to being powerless.
Reply
I don't think that's the reason at all, Vaati. Now you're just trying too hard!
