Holiday Cheer with Monkeys.

Dec 16, 2005 18:27

Actual quote by me last night, very loudly, in the middle of Wal-Mart: "Stupid Christmas... who the hell invented this stupid holiday anyway. What? Jesus? Well screw him!!" I was (mostly) joking, of course, but Marty thought I was going to get lynched if anyone heard me. Damn Heartland of America.

What? I haven't posted in a while? Well, you should be accustomed to that by now. I've not really felt like it, as all I've done is work and dream about spending money on something completely frivolous, like, oh, say, food.

However, I did shell out $6 on King Kong, and it was monkeylicious. I truly enjoyed the life that they infused into Kong, who was one of the most endearing and human characters I'd ever seen, despite the fact he was a giant gorilla. It really made me want to look into working with apes again. I had an offer to intern at a primate research facility outside Lexington a few years back, but I stupidly turned it down. Now I just plain can't afford to. But it is one of my life's dreams, so maybe someday I'll fingure something out. And: I almost cried like a little bitch at the end; but as Butch Walker said, anyone who doesn't has no soul. Good point, Butch. Also, the T-Rex fight was one of the greatest action sequences ever made.

I went into work today, though I wasn't scheduled. I needed the money. I put together two standees and now my hands are all fuxxored. But it was fun. Fun, but not paying enough. I need another job.

Tonight = Cinemark Christmas Party! Whee!
Tomorrow = Potluck! Whee!
The Day After Tomorrow = scared the shit out me, since I hate tornadoes. Not-Whee!
