OK.
So i had been hoping to move on Monday, for a couple reasons. One, is that the son of one of my elderly students from the community center class offered to use his k-truck (cute little Japanese farm truck, like a pick-up but tiny) to help me, and he's free on Monday. Two, i have been asked to come meet my new Board of Education on Tuesday, so it would have been convenient to already be moved to Omihachiman by then.
But no-o!
I finally got ahold of my supervisor last night, because i was getting antsy, not knowing when or where i was going next week.
He told me that the apartment won't be available until Wednesday. Well, in addition to the complications listed above, my international drivers' license will expire that day. So i'll have to go up to Shiga on Tuesday for this meeting (which means that most of Tuesday will be shot with trains and meeting, so i can't pack/clean house that day), on Wednesday to drop off the car, and then on Thursday to finish moving (thankfully guy with truck is also free on Thursday).
I know this isn't that bad, but i had also been hoping to go out dancing in Kyoto on Wednesday night to an event i haven't been to in years because it's on weeknights. Of course, if i'm going to be hauling stuff up and down stairs all Thursday, i don't think it's a good idea at all.
*sigh*
Of course, i have still not been told an address, so i can't do the change-of-address forms, nor a phone number, so i can't transfer my internet.
Oh well. Just felt like grumbling a bit.
The festival last weekend was fun. I did myself no damage, but one of the guys in our team fell on his head. I found out later that he's fine though. Probably mildly concussed though.
Spring has finally come. It's no longer below freezing every night.
