I'm looking to live in the city after graduation. I, however, have little to no education on how to go about it.

Would anyone be able to give some advice? What constitutes a reasonable price? Good locations? Etc.

craigslist dot com

It's also good if you need to find a threesome or like a used car or something.

what kind of employment are you going for? what kind of neighborhood are looking for? artsy? yuppy? or bed-stuy? if you're looking for reasonable priced apartments in an upcoming neighborhood with a lot of artists/musicians/writers/college graduates, look at bushwick. it's not the most gorgeous place in brooklyn but it's also not overpriced like williamsburg has become. prices: $1200-2000 for a 2 bedroom apartment.

i'll be living there this summer with chantilly, working at cnet.com.

good luck!

That sounds pretty good. Maybe you can give me some advice on this: when is a good time to apply to an apartment? I'm currently doing a job search in NYC and I doubt that will go through, but if chose to go after a job now, how long is the transition from interested in renting, paperwork, and move-in?

Literally, just a week. When I moved to williamsburg two years ago, I found an apartment the first week in April, called up the broker, and few days later I signed the lease. We moved in May 1st, so you might want to start looking at least a month ahead of time, maybe even scout out the areas you want to live in before that.

Do you want to live with someone or alone? And what kind of jobs are you applying for? (I thought you were going to grad school)
