Ah yes. My first year as an Auburn student and we end up going 13 - 0. Fun stuff. We got back to Birmingham today after a nice trip to New Orleans to see the Sugar Bowl. It was really fun. Auburn won, so it made the whole thing better too. The only downer was that we had the most obnoxious Auburn fan in the world seated directly in front of us. I wanted to physically strangle her about once a minute. She was the kind of fan who thought she knew everything about football and expressed her opinions to everyone within thirty yards of her. Let's just give the whole story. We sit in our seats, which are about 4 rows from the very top of the Superdome. We got there really early because there was no way we could just look around New Orleans for a few hours and find parking within a mile of the stadium. So she starts walking up. She starts mounting the steep climb to her seat, a fully loaded drink carrying thing in one hand and backpack and shaker in another. The game has not even started and she is carrying a foot-long hot dog, a cookie, two drinks and i think some nachos or other munchies. As you can tell by the food, the girl liked to eat, and it showed. She actually had to stop climbing about half way up the stairs, which was only about 10 rows, in order to catch her breath. She finally made it to her seat and proceeded to complain to her husband and us about how inconsiderate it was to build the stadium so steep and how she should call up the people who made the stadium and complain about how hard it is for fat people to get into. From there on out, it was miserable to hear her open her mouth. But besides that the game and the whole atmosphere was incredible. Hopefully we can get to a big bowl game in the near future.
We also got to go to the D-Day museum in New Orleans. It was really good. I hope to go back in February and take my grandfather to hear a lecture on Iwo Jima. unfortunately I forgot my camera, so i have no pictures of the museum. Definitly go if you ever get the chance.
I have to go back to school in less than a week. Grrrr....
