Well, I'll be damned
Some of you may remember this question that was part of a meme that made the rounds a few years ago:
30.have you ever been rushed by an ambulance into A&E?
The standard answer was some variation of "huh?"--nobody, myself included, had any idea WTF that was supposed to mean.
Well, I've just now discovered that it means "Accident and Emergency ward." The British ER.
And now this makes sense: "All of us are wounded, anesthetised in A&E."
