It's been about a week since I've posted, most because I'm busy as @#%$ at work. Lots of projects/papers/experiments going on at the same time. Also, we're in the midst of planning our annual Halloween Party, and by planning I mean constantly finding ways to make more complicated than we had originally envisioned, and by in the midst I mean trapped in the doldrums. Lol. That was my its not really funny laugh.
Anyway, expect pictures of that one after the date in question (Oct. 27th, if you're curious.) Beyond that, I've been consistently dissapointed in the performance of all of my sports teams. The Huskers are, in a word, terrible, and the Yankees got bounced from the playoffs in the first round. I almost don't want to start pulling for my friend Joes' Rockies, for fear I'll jinx them too. And for a little extra salt, Joe Torre just turned down the Yankees' contract offer today, so he's officially done. So between Joe Joe leaving and probably taking a bunch of players I like with him (Posada, Rivera, Pettite, to name a few) and the impending termination of the Huskers' coaching staff at the end of the season which was all but confirmed with the firing of the AD this week, I guess my teams will look very different than their current form when their next respective seasons roll around. Oh well, at least with every game the Huskers lose, the chances of USC making the National Championship game shrink just a little bit more.
The Thorvar game is moving along swimmingly. Namfoodle has been crowend champion of the Mountain of Death, a wild and zany gladiatorial event in the town arena. Everybody seemed to enjoy that, so I'll have to keep doing them during their little side trips back to town. They're into the Forge of Fury now, however, delving into the abandoned halls of a dwarven leader and master smith known as Durgeddin the Black, looking to clear it out and find one of Durgeddin's forges so they can perform the ritual on his hammer to let Oscar activate it. Legacy Weapons are fun like that, since they're magic item, individual goal, and group plot hook all wrapped up in one. Also, my friend brought his red dice of accursedness out of retirement to take a crack at things, and I rewarded him by promptly dropping a swarm of footlong mosquito creatures called stirges on his character and killing him. Whoops. My bad. But, at the very least I know with certainty how deadly swarms are to this party. You may be asking yourselves "Does that mean he's realized they're a party weakspot and will be careful about using them now?" or "He's realized it's a party weak spot he can exploit?" The answer is a resounding yes.
And with that, I bid you Adoo.
