How do you prepare
I just got off the phone with my mother. We hadn't talked in a few days, and she mentioned that she had gone to see my grandmother earlier today, but followed up saying that she didn't know when my grandmother would just decide to close her eyes, and go to sleep. How do you prepare for that phone call?
I think what caught me so off guard was that I'd never heard my mom say it before. At 94, and after some trials over the course of the last couple of months I probably shouldn't be surprise at this news, but somehow hearing it said aloud makes is seem much more real.
