Wow this has been a busy few days. I still urge everyone who reads this to go see Phantom of the Opera. I finally got the Rent book at the library yesterday. There are many photos of Adam Pascal in in there if anyone has not seen it yet. I also found on Playbill.com a picture of the closing night of Cabaret which featured Adam Pascal next to Sally Bowles. The Tony's were on Sunday (yay!) and Idina Menzel won for her role as Elphaba in Wicked! She totally deserved that Tony. She worked hard on that role and served it well. Anyone who is in line to play Elphaba has to thank her for making that role a memorable one. I was kinda sad that Avenue Q won over Wicked almost everytime. I haven't seen or heard Avenue Q and myself being a huge Wicked fan may sound kinda biased.
On a non-musical note I saw two movies over the weekend. Troy and the new Harry Potter. The first half of Troy I thought was kinda slow but I really liked the second half even though Orlando Bloom was a wuss. Harry Potter was good, everyone loved it but I liked how Chris Colombus directed it better. I don't know. Everytime I say that I get yelled at by someone. But it's my own opinion. This one was interesting... but I don't know how to explain this. I just liked the first two better and I'm probably one of the only ones to say that. I didn't think that the characters were the same. Hagrid was more serious, Hermoine was a little bit more bitchy, Ron seemed like he was pussy whipped, and I half expected Harry to kill himself at times. Don't get me wrong. I really really liked it but it was more dark and it didn't end with Griffindor winning everything. It was just different and I liked it the other way. oh well. Maybe it was just me and my brother who thought that way. I don't read those books so I don't know what they changed and all that. All I know is that it was darker. In shutting up with that I am reminded on one like from 'Wicked' : "Something has changed (within me). Something is not the same."
Gah I have finals soon I better stop typing and start pretending to study!
