Thoughts for all in Australia.
I am absolutely horrified by the news coming out of Australia and my heart goes out to all who are caught up in hell.
I've heard some awful, awful stories and I don't think there can be any death worse than what many have suffered. It's the stuff of nightmares. I think one story that sticks in my mind is of a man with skin hanging from his body pleading for his surviving child to be saved after losing his wife and another child. It's heartbreaking and if that child did survive I wonder how s/he will ever cope with this most dreadful loss.
It's so hard to imagine that those fires could have resulted from deliberate acts of arsonism but I know it happens a lot in Australia and it has happened a lot here too. I just can't imagine what kind of warped mind it takes to burn people and animals, homes and the land itself. :0(
