A/N: Nothing is mine. Song is from the Goo Goo Dolls, “Iris”. I don’t have much of an imagination to write my own song for Blaine to sing. People aren’t mine and even though I live in New York City, I’ve never eaten breakfast at Tiffany’s so if I’m getting the service wrong, I am terribly sorry. XD Sorry for the title as well. As I’ve said, no imagination!
~I Just Want You to Knwo Who I Am~
Looking out into the sunset through the floor-to-ceiling windows, Kurt rubbed the top of his bulging stomach. The baby was getting bigger and bigger, leaving a huge bump in the middle of his torso.
He looked over at his husband. Blaine had stopped wearing gel and started wearing his glasses in public after college. His hair was unruly at that moment, his face concentrates on getting the notes to collaborate together perfectly to create a song. He shoved his glasses closer to his face and scratched something out before going back and trying a different note.
Kurt smiled softly and sat next to Blaine. “Stop thinking so hard. You’ll fry your brain,” Kurt commented as he brushed Blaine’s hair back from his forehead. The only light on was the bedside table lamp, which made Blaine look kind of beautiful. “Sorry. I just want to get this done before the baby comes. That way I’ll worry on the baby, not this stupid song.”
“Few more days,” Kurt sighed, more to himself. He’d kept in touch with all the glee kids from high school, except Brittany who he heard was a model now, and once they’d heard he was pregnant, Quinn had decided he should learn her experience during Beth’s birth.
It was horrific.
“What do you think it is?” Blaine asked. They had agreed to wait until the baby was born to know it’s gender (to everyone’s disappointment). It just seemed…..like a good surprise. They hadn’t preferred any gender and it wouldn’t matter which they got. But Kurt was getting impatient and wished they hadn’t agreed on that. “I don’t know. I imagine a baby boy with your curly hair and incredible eyes. A mini version of you who understands both sports and fashion.” Kurt was smiling as he imagined the small child, looking just like it’s daddy.
“Really?” Blaine asked. “Well, I imagine a little girl with your brown hair and greenish eyes and pale skin. Who would love Katy Perry as much as me. Or at least her equivalent at the time.” Blaine smiled down at his husband as Kurt rolled his eyes. “I really hope we don’t get called into the principal’s office because she was jumping on the desks.” Blaine laughed.

“Where’s Blaine?” Mercedes asked as she sipped her drink.
Her, Sam, and Kurt were eating breakfast at Tiffany’s (doesn’t that bring memories?). “He’s off recording that song he wrote. He was so glad it’s finally finished.” Kurt smiled at the happy couple across from him. Reminded him of when they’d showed up at the Lima Bean when Blaine had professed his love to Kurt for the first time. Kurt was having too many flashbacks for comfort.
He waved over to Finn and Rachel, who were just entering the building. Rachel had improved her style and Kurt thanked the Broadway lights for that. New York can do wonders. “Hey, man,” Finn greeted his step-brother. “Damn, you’re huge.” Kurt narrowed his eyes as the others laughed. “It’s true, Kurt.”
Kurt pouted for about two seconds and perked up when the food arrived. He quickly dug in, enjoying the taste of a well prepared breakfast. “Jeez, Kurt. Come up for air,” Sam commented and laughed when Kurt paused long enough to smack his arm.
“It’s natural for Kurt to be hungry all the time. I’m pretty sure that will be me when Finn and I choose to have babies of our own,” Rachel said. Finn gave Sam a panicked look, making Kurt hold himself back from laughing.

Blaine said goodbye to the others in the studio before grabbing his shoulder bag and leaving. His phone blasted “Teenage Dream” from its speakers, making Blaine smile as he saw Kurt’s picture show up. “Hey, babe.”
There was deep breathing on the other line until Kurt said, “Blaine. It’s coming.”
Blaine had rushed to his car and started it in a record of three minutes. Just about. He didn’t remember how he got to the hospital without accident, too busy hearing Kurt’s pained voice telling him their child was coming.
He parked his car as close as he could and rushed through the ER doors. He saw Kurt sitting on one of the light blue plastic chairs, Mercedes and Sam trying to calm him down while Finn and Rachel was having an argument with the nurse behind the desk. Blaine rubbed Kurt’s back, getting his husband’s attention.
Kurt grabbed Blaine’s hand and held on tight as he breathed deeply. In and Out. Blaine followed his breathing pattern to stop himself form panicking. What if he wasn’t a good enough father? What if he wasn’t supportive enough? What if he turned out like his own father?
Kurt whimpered as another contraction passed by. Blaine looked up to see a doctor coming their way. Rachel looked smug, probably because her screaming finally brought someone to help. Blaine helped Kurt onto the bed, quickly kissing his cheek as he rushed after the doctors. He heard a lot of big words, but caught “C-Section” and “No time”.
Kurt began yelling. Telling the doctor’s to get him out. He didn’t need a hint to figure out the “he” Kurt was referring to. One doctor got Blaine in scrubs like himself, causing him to separate from Kurt momentarily. He quickly threw it over his clothes and was led to a room labeled “OR”. Kurt was in the middle of the room, a divider covering the top of his stomach and down. Blaine was told to sit on a chair next to Kurt’s head. Kurt wrapped his fingers around Blaine’s as he bit his lip nervously.
Blaine guessed that they’d already numbed him so he wouldn’t feel the pain of the doctors taking out their baby from him. “I’m scared.” Kurt’s words were weak and small, making Blaine hold onto him tighter. “It’ll be okay. It always is.”
Kurt opened his mouth to respond, but was cut off by wailing. Blaine’s hold tightened as he heard their baby’s voice. He tried to determine its sex through its crying. But couldn’t. A doctor brought a small bundle after a few minutes to their view. He gave it to Blaine, helping him hold the baby properly. “Just until after we finish cleaning up,” the doctor told Kurt as he disappeared.
Blaine smiled at the little baby in his arms. It had Kurt’s light brown hair, but was also curly. Blaine could tell by the massive amount of hair on the baby. Its nose was Kurt’s, yet its mouth like Blaine’s. Its skin was pale and Blaine couldn’t wait to see its eyes.
He smiled at his husband, moving closer until the baby was laying on a small space of the bed next to Kurt’s head. Both men ignored everything else as they looked down at their newborn baby.

Blaine handed the small baby boy over to Burt, careful to make sure his father-in-law didn’t drop his son. “Kid, I know how to hold a baby. Kurt’s dad, remember?” Blaine blushed slightly as Carole moved passed him to fawn over the baby. Blaine sat on the edge of the hospital bed as Kurt watched his dad hold the baby.
“So, what are you naming him?”
Kurt looked over at Blaine and they both smiled. “Joshua,” Kurt responded.
They all smile and Kurt almost cried as the baby opened its eyes and showed two greenish eyes staring at his family.
End.
