Adam Lambert Slams Anti-Gay Group ‘One Million Moms’
June 03, 2012 03:55 PM EDT
Today Adam Lambert spoke out against anti-gay group "One Million Moms" by tweeting to his almost 1.5 million followers, "F--k 'One Million Moms'. Hateful Bigots" Adam is probably reacting to the recent events in which the One Million Moms organization boycotted JC Penny because of a Father's Day ad featuring a same-sex couple playing with their children. Time reported on the One Million Moms campaign against JC Penny this morning.
It's possible Adam may have also seen another of One Million Moms campaigns that made recent news. The organization's Facebook page has mysteriously disappeared after a negative post about DC Comics' reintroduction of Green Lantern Alan Scott as gay. According to The New Civil Rights Movement, "They deleted the post after apparently unsuccessfully attempting to delete pro-gay comments, once they realized of the over 100 comments, almost all were actually pro-gay." There is no word if the Facebook page was removed by the organization or by Facebook for hateful content.
After Adam tweeted about One Million Moms today, his brother responded, "@adamlambert got it. New life goal: f--k one million moms, hateful bigots. I don't think I'm gonna like this." Then Adam joked back, "@negativeneil hahaha They def ain't MILF's lol"
Adam Lambert has been a voice for gay rights over the past few years. He continues to speak out against hate and recently made history when he became the first openly gay male to début with a #1 album on the Billboard chart.
