Adam now has over one million Twitter followers!!! This incredible achievement was reached just before midnight Eastern time on April 22, 2011, and it happened in less than 2 years! His Twitter account was opened on June 12, 2009 under the name 'therealGlambert' and was later changed to his current twittername 'adamlambert' on July 1, 2009.
He is an avid Twitter user, connecting with his fans by keeping them up-to-date on his career, most recently the preparations for his next album. Adam also keeps his Twitter followers informed of his involvement in his events and activities, creating a closeness that his fans appreciate. Other uses have been to promote his friends' projects and promote other artists, as well as let everyone know about the different causes and charities he supports. He has also used it as a platform to address rumors and express his opinion on various subjects.
This milestone makes Adam the very first American Idol alumnus to reach a million followers, and he was Amplicate's #1 Most Loved on Twitter for 2010!
