TOTAL CARBON AND NITROGEN!

Jul 31, 2007 20:27

I'm finishing up the soil pH today which means that tomorrow I get to start the total carbon and nitrogen! I'm pretty excited, mostly because I'll finally be doing something that is largely mechanized and I can spend some time working on my resume, but also because it's by far the coolest measurement I'm taking. Soil texture is a terribly boring thing to do, as is pH and bicarbonate extractions (honestly, filtering anything through No. 42 grade filter paper is about as interesting as watching grass grow).

Only two weeks until I leave Oregon. A little scary, but I'm glad. I can't wait to get back to California. I could come back to grad school at U of Oregon, but I don't think I will. The culture clashes a little and the weather doesn't suit me. It's a nice place to spend the summer, but I wouldn't want to go to school here.

Mehlich,
Adam
