Leaving Las Vegas

I was in Vegas this weekend for an ultimate frisbee tournament. A bunch of us old UW players put together an alumni team and called ourselves "Dubweiser," haha.

For those who know little of how ultimate works, it is a game alot like soccer and football with a 70 yard field and 7 players on both teams going for the other team's endzone. Games are played until one team reaches 13 points (15 in the playoffs), lasting about an hour and a half on average. Most tournaments are 2 or 3 days long (last day is playoffs) with 4 or 5 games played each day (depending on when you lose on the last day). So yeah, a lot of hard fucking wo0rk for one weekend.

Out of 20 teams (4 divisions of 5) we were seeded 8th overall and 2nd in our division. We played pretty damn good though and beat the 1st seed to take the division. In the playoffs we beat two more teams to make it to the championship game but ended up losing a close one to the very team we beat the day before to take our division. Such is payback though. But going from and 8th seed to 2nd place isn't that bad in my book.

The best part of all of this is that for a great majority of the time, a great majority of our team was either drunk or hungover or both. And we still played out of our skulls. It was damn good times.

Also, I lost $50 on the craps table. Fucking dice.
