I played my second session of 4e on Monday, and I am still not getting it, so I could be talking out my ass, but I know I needed the battle mat to the point where nothing else was real to me.
So take this with salt to taste - Qinggong seems pretty appropriate, but I have a reservation. 4e lives and dies on the battle mat, and giving characters wires encourages battles in 3 dimensions.
Gargoyles sound like they would be fun to play. And I like the idea of elves and eladrin being interchangeable, especially given how many times I was yelled at by my group for calling the party eladrin "elf," I take it as a personal vindication.
I'm imagining the wire-fu as being used for jumping more than flying. When I run 4E games, I often have rooftops and ledges for characters to use, anyway. It's still 2D, more or less
