I'm playing in
greymaiden's D&D game tonight. She's running out-of-the-box Eberron for her husband and other folks. It'll be good to hang out with some new gamers and possibly subvert a few of them for
Verge playtesting eventually. Muahahaha.
I had an idea for a Warforged Monk who is trying to be enlightened and grow beyond his made-for-war origins but unable to reconcile his violent nature with his peaceful ideals. But
greymaiden's hubby is already playing a Warforged Monk, so I don't want to step in his niche. I'll have to see what folks are playing and fill a needed role.
I'm considering some kind of Human Cleric role, a sort of paternal guide type. He's a true believer and isn't afraid to give you a piece of his mind about what he (and his faith) say is the right thing to do. And withhold healing spells, if you go too far. Mostly, though, he just wants to "fix" people. The trick is playing him as interesting and not overly annoying.
If they don't need a cleric, maybe an Artificer of some kind. It could be fun to give the new class a test run. Or maybe a Changeling Rogue. Plenty of opportunity for trouble there.
I'll update you later on the game. Maybe even an Actual Play report or something...
Edit: Game was cancelled. Next week!
