Hey, In...glorius... Bast...erds?... however stupid way it's spelled... turned out to be really good! Shock of shocks, tell your friends. Despite the goofy, ridiculous trailer and besides Death Proof being one of the worst films I've seen in my entire life, Tarantino managed to actually pull a decent film out of his golden asshole. Hannah and I laughed, cried, and... man, what's with Eli Roth? Not only does he make awful films, he was just terrible in this movie. He was wearing eyeliner and he seriously acted so stupid, every time the camera showed him I wanted to beat him with a baseball bat. Every line he spoke was terrible. God. The film had all the typical Tarantino excesses, but I dunno.. it's kinda interesting that one director is "daring" enough to let conversations run on for 40 minutes.. also, a good 80% of the movie is subtitled... very nice (if you care about those things) (and I guess I sorta don't, since I don't really go to the movies ever, but it's kinda cool that Tarantino has a little respect for his audience's intelligence) (I'm saying that now, and then the movie will completely bomb because half of America doesn't know how to read). Also, love his super-obscure, super-pretentious Godard visual reference (the close up of the cream totally reminded me of the close up of the cream in the coffee in that one movie by him.. you know, the one.. of the EIGHTY SEVEN films he's directed). Trust me, I know it was a visual reference. The version we saw in theaters had director's commentary embedded over top. What's with Eli Roth?.. Oh. So, seriously, go check it out. It's his best film since his City on Fire remake (Reservoir Dogs). When Hitler gets killed SPOILER it is honestly one of the most violent things I've seen since the movies VIOLENT SHIT, ZOMBIE DOOM '95, THE BURNING MOON (featuring that extended scene of the child molester preacher Satan worshiper getting his dick graphically ripped off) and so on. I mean, bullet holes fill his face. It was the most violent thing I've seen since VIOLENT COP, which isn't that violent. But this was VIOLENT. I loved Ingloryus Basturds. I'd give it a 1! (out of 1.25) Also, I am taking Hannah's advice and am actually going to attend the screening of my first movie. Lloyd Kaufman will even be there! Maybe we can share a drink. Responsibly. So, yeah, come to TROMADANCE INDIANA/B-MOVIE FEST the last weekend of September if you want to hang out with me, the guy who Giuseppe Andrews said had "good sound effects". Best compliment I've ever received.
This song is so awesome (
