some albums I like

Music is such a huge part of my life. I listen to it on an hourly basis. Throughout my life there have been many songs and albums that I've enjoyed and have helped me along the way.The following is a list in no certain order of some of those albums... Feel free to add some of your favorites as well.

Robbie Williams' "Escapology" is a great album that explores love, fame, relationships, and everything in between. This album was another attempt to thrust Robbie into the forefront of American Music Superstars, but failed to do so on a large scale. This album is personal, witty, pop/rock and radio friendly and 100% persona driven. A close masterpiece. Standout tracks include... Come Undone, Feel, Monsoon, Me & My Monkey, Sexed Up, and Love Somebody.

Please Hammer Don't Hurt' Em , may seem like an odd choice. But back in the heyday of 1990 this album was at the top. Cheeseball lyrics, dance moves out the ying-yang, funky beats and the infectious single "You Can't Touch This" made this album fun. It hasn't really stood the test of time but back 'in the day' this album was the bomb.Standout Tracks include...
You Can't Touch This, Yo Sweetness, Have You Seen Her, and Crime Stories.

Stop All the World Now, is a full on attack of the emotional and depressing. Howie Day may only be 23, but his lyrics are that of a seasoned pro. The album crosses from mainstream pop, folkie blues, and light rock, with a mixture of early Bono thrown in. Standout tracks include... Collide, Brace Yourself, She Said, You & a Promise, and At the End of Our Days.

the soundtrack to 'The Crow' was my album of 1994. Not only was the movie one of the best gothic thrillers ever made, and Brandon Lee's final performance , but the soundtrack spoke to me in a way that was rare at that point in my life. Rage, loss, desperation, and darkness fueled the tracks on the album. The Cure, Nine Inch Nails covering Joy Divisions "Dead Souls" is nothing less than brilliant, and tracks by Stone Temple Pilots, Machines of Loving Grace, Pantera, and the Rollins Band make this soundtrack a must-have for any rock lovers collection. Stand Out Tracks include... Burn- the Cure, Dead Souls-NIN, Big Empty - STP, and It Can't Rain All the Time by Jane Siberry.

A Rush of Blood to the Head may be one of the best British Rock albums ever recorded. The hooks are tremendous, the lyrics are colorful, emotional, poetic, and catchy and Chris Martins voice soars with energy and passion on every track. After Coldplay's first releases' success made it an almost impossible task for them to duplicate, but they surpassed the bar with this winning album. Standout tracks include... In My Place, the Scientist, Green Eyes, Warning Signs, A Ruch of Blood to the Head.

Dido's "Life For Rent" is a jewel from the beginning. Not only because I find her charming, cute (Talitha resembles her), and I Love her accent as well. Many at first listen may assume that each song sounds similar to the last but that isn't the case. Many tracks build on a slow beat later turning into a folkie/pop melody full of life experiences, hope, and lost love. The album is one that grows on you and after a while it is stuck in your head for days. Standout Tracks include... White Flag, Life for Rent, Sand in my Shoes, and See the Sun.

Duncan Sheiks' first release is by far one of the best albums ever recorded in history. From the sweeping opening track 'she runs away' to the poetic last track"Little Hands" Sheik delivers every heartfelt lyric as if nothing could ever stop his pain. It's a magical album that holds you in and won't let you escape. Stand out Tracks include... She Runs Away, In the Absence of the Sun, Home , November, Little Hands, Days Go By, and Reason's for Living.

The Ego Has Landed introduced America to Robbie Williams. This is my favorite album of all time. The album shifts from pop to rock like a rollercoaster and brings personal, yet witty lyrics to almost every track. Williams American debut album deals with everything from drug problems, ego's (getting kicked out of the boy band 'Take That'), fame, relationships, to Summer afternoons. This album lyrically and musically is one of the best albums recorded as stated in the 1999 of ET. It included the top 20 hits, Angels, and Millennium and eventually went platinium in the U.s. Stand out Tracks include... Lazy Days, No Regrets, Strong, Man Machine, Angels, Karma Killer, and Millennium.

What's Your Name? by Adam Sandler is a collection of songs rather than the typical songs mixed in with skits. The album has some really funny (very dirty) material on it. On first listen I didn't really like it. It grew on me however, and over the next few weeks after I bought it, it became a staple in my cd player. The songs aren't always clever, but they made me rethink certain ideas about comedy albums. This Album is mainly for hardcore Adam Sandler fans. Standout tracks include... Lonesome Kicker, Bad Boyfriend, Four Years Old, Voodoo, and Red Hooded Sweatshirt.

Fallen by Evanescence is one of my favorite rock albums. Amy Lee has the voice of a haunted angel filled with hurt, rage, and sorrow plus I think she is kind of a hot gothic chick as well. The songs on their debut disc are unique in that the band not only rely's on heavy guitar and drums for the rock sound but also throw in string instruments and piano. I actually like every song on this album. I'm really looking forward to their sophmore release. Standout tracks include...Tourniquet,Everybody's Fool, My Immortal,Imaginary, and Haunted.

'Ain't No Shame in My Game' by Candyman was the first and only album that my step-dad ever threw out the window of our van while we were moving. It's a cornball rap album that came out in 1990. The lyrics were mostly fluff but had one song entitlted 'Don't Leave Home Without It." If I remember correctly it speaks about making sure to have condoms with you at all times because you never know when you might be knockin' boots with a lady friend. The album just reminds me of younger days and is actually really funny even though it isn't suppose to be. Stand Out Tracks include... Melt in Your Mouth, Knockin Boots, and Don't Leave Home Without it.

SpiceWorld is a very happy pop record. I think it is better than the first release due-to-the-fact that the songs are a little more structured and the girls vocal qualities are more apparent. Each Spice has her own 'voice' and they seem to have more of a personality than that of the first album. This album got me through some rough times and it kept me from killing myself. I would recommend this album when you're feeling down and out, it will put the smile back on your face and put a little extra lead in your pencil.Standout Tracks Include...Never Give Up On the Good Times, Viva Forever, Stop, and Do It.

Tiny Music From the Vatican Gift Shop by Stone Temple Pilots is a great album. Grunge was the Stone Temple Pilots' stock-in-trade on their first two albums, but Tiny Music takes the group beyond such stylistic limitations. There's still plenty of grinding, metallic alt-rock here, thanks to "Pop's Love Suicide," "Big Bang Baby," and "Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart." "Lady Picture Show" is a bracing blast of Beatlesesque pop, however, while "And So I Know" finds Weiland crooning over, of all things, cocktail jazz. The album's dozen tracks find the troubled singer musing (rather creepily) about the price of fame on "Adhesive" ("Sell more records if I'm dead... Hope it's sooner / Hope it's near corporate records' fiscal year"), and not apologizing for his bad behavior ("Tumble in the Rough" asserts, "I'm looking for a new stimulation". But they're rock stars, not role models, and Tiny Music is STP's edgiest, most accomplished effort. Standout Tracks include...Pop's Love Suicide,Trippin' On A Hole In A Paper Heart,Seven Caged Tigers,Adhesive, and Art School Girl.

'August and Everything After' is a wonderful debut album. At a time when grunge was everywhere, Counting Crows sounded remarkably fresh, and brought along a new face of rock. With emotional lyrics and the pain ladden voice of lead singer Adam Duritz, the Counting Crows mixed raw emotion and catchy hooks with country-tinged 1970s classic rock and they took over the airwaves and paved the road for many bands in the late 90's and even some of today's hottest bands. Standout Tracks Include...Round Here, Perfect Blue Buildings, Mr. Jones,Sullivan Street, and Raining in Baltimore.

These albums are only a a select few that have stayed with me over the years. I would continue with the list but I'm actually getting bored with this now. Feel free leave some of your favorites as well.
